Sigma Kappa Triangle/Summer 1989-29 ------~ t; by Marilyn Piland Schexsnayder, Collegiate topic of the issue: • 1'1 Y, Collegiate Editor "Highlight your chapter's public relations program detailing how you promote Sigma Kappa on your campus, within the Greek system, ZETA with the university administration, in your community, and with your George Washington University parents and alumnae." Washington, DC- Our first annual faculty tea was held at the George Washington Alumni House on November 18. It was quite a success with a large number of faculty attending. Other public relations events for the fall and spring in cluded the AE Dating Game to raise funds for the Whitman Clinic and AIDS Research and par ticipation in homecoming activities such as the queen contest, a basketball game, and a banner competition. Two weeks later, Z "stayed up all night" for a sports marathon to raise money for Miriam's Kitchen, a local shelter that feeds Wash ington's homeless. Other Z public relations activities include wearing letters every Wednesday (especially effec tive during rush), distributing Valentine's Day treats to all of the other fraternities and sororities on campus, and a Week of Giving bake sale to raise money for contributions to our philanthro· pies.
