Directions From Ludlow take the A49 road. After about 7 miles turn left (sign Stokesay Castle/Church). Follow the lane around past the church and castle. Immediately before the first farm buildings on the right open the gates to continue across the vehicular track, being sure to close the gates afterwards. Follow the track for a few yards to the railway crossing. If you wish to go across the crossing with a car it is essential that before doing so you follow the instructions on the crossing gate to telephone the signal box for the all clear and ensure that gates are closed after crossing and the signal box is telephoned immediately afterwards. However with the cottage just on the other side of the crossing initially it is best to walk across the railway line with the cottage on the left hand side.
