What is the application deadline?

September 30th is the official application deadline. Admissions to SWPS University after October 1st are subject to approval by the faculty Dean. Candidates seeking late admission should submit a request to the Admissions Office. Admissions may be closed before the official application deadline, if all places available for a given program are filled.

What modes of study are available at SWPS University?

SWPS University offers full-time and part-time studies. In the full-time mode, classes take place from Monday to Friday. In the part-time time mode, classes take place on weekends, twice a month on average.

What documents should I submit with my application?

 A copy of a high-school/secondary-school diploma (the original diploma must be submitted to the Admissions Office for review, before the start of the academic year).  A copy of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree diploma and a diploma supplement, if applicable (the original diploma must be submitted to the Admissions Office for review, before the start of the academic year).  One signed passport photo  A copy of a personal identification document (the original personal identification document must be submitted to the Admissions Office for review, before the start of the academic year. International students should not send the original personal identification documents by post).  A confirmation of the Application Fee payment.

Additionally, candidates who hold a BA or an MA degree and are applying to a uniform 5-year graduate study programs in Polish, should submit the following:

 A copy of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree diploma and a diploma supplement or a transcript (the original diploma must be submitted to the Admissions Office for review, before the start of the academic year).

Candidates applying by post or submitting their documents with the help of a third party must print and provide the following documents generated during the online application process:

 A signed Personal Information Form  Study Agreement (two copies, signed on each page)  Appendix to the Study Agreement (two copies, signed on each page)

How can I pay the Application Fee?

You can pay the Application Fee while completing the online Application Form, using an E-Card. Other payment options include: a bank transfer, a debit card payment at the Admissions Office or a cash payment at the University Bursary. The cash payment option applies only to the programs of study conducted in Polish and it is available only in .

The Application Fee for study programs conducted in English should be paid in Euros, by a bank transfer.

When will I receive the admission decision?

The admission decision is usually issued the next working day, once required documents are submitted to the Admissions Office, with the exception of the programs that require the candidate to attend an university interview or to write a language proficiency test.

The admission decision is posted to the candidate’s online profile, created during the online application procedure. A hard copy of the admission decision is posted to the candidate’s correspondence address within two weeks.

Will the University issue a letter confirming that I am a student?

The Student Affairs Office will issue your SWPS University Student Card after October 1st. Until that time, the admission confirmation letter is the legal document confirming your student status.

Can I change the mode of study once I have already applied or have been accepted to SWPS University?

Yes. You can change the mode of study before the start of the academic year (i.e. before October 1st.) To change the mode of study, you need to submit a written request to the Admissions Office.

When and how should I complete the English language proficiency assessment test?

The English proficiency assessment test is mandatory for candidates applying to undergraduate and five-year uniform graduate (M.A.) study programs, with the exception of English Studies and 2-year graduate studies. The assessment test helps to place students in groups appropriate to the level of their language proficiency.

The assessment test is available on the Virtual University Platform (i.e. the internal information portal).

Students admitted to SWPS University should complete the language assessment test upon receipt of their Admission Confirmation Letter.

I forgot my password and I cannot log in to SWPS University portal. How can I retrieve my password?

If you forget your password, please e-mail the Admissions Office at [email protected], asking to reset your password. Please include the number of your Personal Identification Document in the e-mail.

Where should I upload a photo for my Student Card?

A passport photo should be uploaded during the online application process.

When will I receive my Student Card?

You can collect your Student Card at the Student Affairs Office after October 1st, provided you have uploaded a passport photo during the online application process. When your Student Card is ready for pick up, you will receive a notification via the Virtual University Platform (i.e. the internal information portal).

International students must provide a copy of their student visa, medical insurance, and their temporary address in , before they are issued their Student Cards. The documents can be submitted to the Admissions Office before October 1st or to the Student Affairs Office after October 1st. Students who submit the required documents after October 1st, will receive their Student Cards in two weeks’ time.

When will I receive my course schedule?

The course schedule will be available on the Virtual University Platform (i.e. the internal information portal) no later than two weeks before the first day of classes.

Do I need to enroll in my courses?

First year students do not need to enroll in any courses.

When should I pay the first tuition fee installment?

The first tuition fee installment should be paid by October 5th to the personal tuition account provided in your Study Agreement and on the Virtual University Platform (i.e. the internal information portal).

Can I change the tuition fee payment option?

Yes. You can change the tuition fee payment option by October 1st. To change the tuition fee payment option, you need to submit a written request to the Admissions Office.

International students from non-EU countries, enrolled in study programs conducted in English, must pay for the first semester or for the whole year in advance. If they wish to change the tuition fee payment option, they may do so only after the first semester, by submitting a written request to the Student Affairs Office.

I need an invoice reflecting the tuition fee payments. How can I get it?

You can generate a tuition fee invoice by clicking on the Payments tab on the Virtual University Platform (i.e. the internal information portal). If you require help in this matter, please contact your Student Affairs Office.

I have a Pole’s Card (Karta Polaka). Am I eligible for a tuition discount?

No. However, the carriers of the Pole’s Card may apply for an academic scholarships to help cover their tuition payments, after the first year of studies.

I am an international student. When can I expect to receive an official invitation required to apply for a student visa in Poland.

An official invitation may be issued upon the candidate’s request, once the candidate has submitted all required documents and has been admitted to SWPS University.

Is accommodation at student dormitories available at SWPS University?

What is meant by ‘legalization/nostrification of diplomas and other certificates’?

Documents should be legalized at a Polish Consulate in the student’s country of residence, before they arrive in Poland. Once the documents go through the legalization/nostrification procedure, they should be submitted to the Student Affairs Office by the end of the first semester.

As an international student, what amount should my medical insurance policy cover?

For the period of their studies in Poland, international students must purchase medical insurance to guarantee health care coverage in case of illness or injury. There are various medical insurance options available, such as: a European Health Insurance Card that covers medical costs in Europe, an insurance policy with the Polish National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia) that covers medical costs in Poland, or a medical insurance policy with any insurance company of the student’s choice, for the minimum amount of 30,000 Euros.

The insurance policy should cover the whole period of studies at SWPS University.

Does SWPS University offer scholarships?

SWPS University offers academic achievement scholarships (Rector’s Scholarships), scholarships for students from low-income families, and scholarships for students with disabilities.

Who is eligible for scholarships?

Polish nationals, holders of the Polish Card (Karta Polaka), and citizens of the UE, OECD and EFTA countries, who are working towards their B.A. or M.A. degrees and who have not yet graduated with the M.A. degree, are eligible for the above-noted scholarships. All other non-nationals are not eligible for these scholarships.

Are there any scholarships available for students who are not Polish nationals, do not have a Polish Card or are not citizens of the UE, OECD and EFTA?
