Music – Celebrating Education Week at Ballina Fair

Josie Wivell (Year 12), Nathan Haycock (Year 12) and Jaeden Ogston (Year 9) were invited by the North Coast Regional Arts Council and the Dept of Education and Communities to represent Richmond River High School in celebrating Edu- cation week, by performing at the Ballina Fair Shopping Centre along with other talented students from Tweed River HS, Kingscliff HS, Kadina HS, Byron Bay PS, Mel- ville HS, South Grafton HS and Coffs Harbour HS, on Thursday 4th August 2011. Ballina Fair patrons were most impressed with the high standard of talent from NSW public school students. There were 20 performances ranging from instrumentalists, solo singers, school choir and a skipping group. The day was well received and enjoyed by all who at- tended. Later that afternoon Nathan Haycock and Jaeden Ogston travelled to Mullumbimby to also perform for the Regional Director’s Excellence in Education Awards and once again were greatly enjoyed by all who attended.
