The World’s Largest Contents Market ： MIPCOM 2012 “MIPCOM BUYERS’ AWARD for Japanese Drama”

Winner: “The Locked Room Murders”（Fuji Television）

Fuji Television’s drama, “The Locked Room Murders” won this year’s “MIPCOM BUYERS’ AWARD for

Japanese Drama”. The award ceremony took place at MIPCOM (organized by Reed Midem) on October

8th. “MIPCOM BUYERS’AWARD for Japanese Drama” is awarded to excellent Japanese dramas selected by MIPCOM, the world’s largest contents trade show. The winner is chosen from the following seven dramas nominated by participating broadcasters. The selecting committee consists of 14 international (mostly European) buyers who are recommended by MIPCOM.

The award was established in 2009 as one of

collaborative projects with MIPCOM. This year,

the award ceremony was held at Martinez Hotel

Canne at 8pm, October 8th (3am, October 9th

JST), celebrated by broadcasters and buyers who

participated in MIPCOM from all over the world.

Followed by an introduction by the organizer and

a speech by Ms. Kimishima (member of

organizing committee at International Drama

Festival in TOKYO), the award was presented to Mr. Satoshi Kubota of Fuji Television Network, Inc. by

Mr. Dragan Petrovic, chairman of the selecting committee. Also, there was a lively exchange of opinions by international buyers, VIPs from broadcasting industry, and Japanese sellers at a party after the award ceremony.
