Software service discontinuance: IBM VisualAge Pacbase V2.5 and selected features for IBM VisualAge Pacbase V3.0

Overview Effective September 15, 2005, IBM announces the end of services for VisualAge Pacbase V2.5 (5648-A53). Effective April 10, 2006, IBM announces the end of services for all the features of VisualAge Pacbase V3.0 (5655-F37), except for: Bull Repository, Bull Pactables, and Bull DSMS, GCOS7, and GCOS8 features. For a complete list of features, refer to the Feature withdrawal section. Refer to Software Announcement 203-003, dated January 14, 2003, for information on the replacement product VisualAge Pacbase V3.5. End of service dates: • September 15, 2005: IBM VisualAge Pacbase V2.5 • April 10, 2006: All features of IBM VisualAge Pacbase V3.0, except for Bull Repository, Bull Pactables, and Bull DSMS, GCOS7, and GCOS8 related features

Refer to Software Announcement 203-003, dated January 14, 2003, for information on the replacement product VisualAge Pacbase V3.5. BULL customers (Bull GCOS7 or GCOS8 Repository, and Workstation Control Module as prerequisites or DSMS) can migrate to the following VisualAge Pacbase V3.5 z/OS /, UNIX, or Windows platforms: • IBM z/OS/CICS • IBM AIX • Bull Escala AIX • Compaq TRU64 UNIX • HP-UX • Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP There is a minimum 50% discount on primary licence charges for all V3.5 features corresponding to those used when migrating to V2.5. The VisualAge Pacbase V3.5 annual licence charge is applicable and is prorated at the time of purchase. Customers using the VisualAge Pacbase V2.5 Bull GCOS7 or GCOS8 Pactables features are encouraged to migrate to equivalent Bull features in V3.0.

Customized offerings

Most product media is shipped only via Customized Offerings (that is, CBPDO, ServerPac, SystemPac ). Non-customized items (CDs, diskettes, source media, media kits) will continue to be shipped via the stand-alone product. Contact your IBM representative for details.
