We commissioned a local artist to design a Jubilee Header for the town’s notice boards Jubilee Header This display went into Nevill Hall Hospital to show some of the projects that the Society are involved in and included a sample of the entries into the Good, Bad & Ugly competition Projects with partners

Smoking related litter featured a lot in our Good, Bad & Ugly competition. Working with a number of partners we circulated this poster around the town. Keep Wales Tidy provided free Stubbies and Ashcans which were available in many of the outlets displaying the poster.

We launched the campaign during Keep Wales Tidy week with help from MCC, Abergavenny Town Council, Keep Wales Tidy, Community Police Team and the NHS Public Health team. Green Spaces

Working with partners we would like to improve the green urban spaces.

Projects such as ‘Incredible Edibles’ will make more productive and attractive use of some of these town spaces.

A group of young people are looking after the Regent Street Garden The Gavenny Project The project aims to improve the quality of the Gavenny as a tributary of the to allow salmon and seatrout migration.

This will entail working with other partners to monitor the ecology of the river and to provide suitable fish passes at the existing weirs on the river.

A Green Corridor

Improving the River Gavenny for salmon migration will improve the richness and diversity of the environment.

An ambitious vision proposes a green corridor linking Castle Meadows with Swan Meadow, Gavenny Meadow and the river valley in the community of . A colour palette for Abergavenny

We are working with Abergavenny Business Club and Dulux to develop a colour palette to make the town more attractive for all and enhance the distinctiveness of Abergavenny What makes Abergavenny Special?

• Exploring the character of our town • Using a toolkit we helped to design, we have started a project to survey all of Abergavenny • Last year we completed our surveys of the Mardy and Monmouth Road areas • This year we hope to complete Priory and Grosfield • We are hoping to get some grant funding for this ambitious project from the Heritage Lottery Fund
