"Syrian Security Launches Inspection Raid in Camp and Arrests One Person"

The AGPS’ reporter in Al-Aydeen Camp of Homs City reported launching security raid, on 16 March 2016, hit few houses of the camp such as Al- Kurdi’s and Abo-Rayya’s families, during which the security forces searched the houses thoroughly, checked the personal identities of all inhabitants.

On 10 March 2016, another raid ended up arresting the Palestinian refugee “Abdullah Abu Fadi” from his house which was inspected thoroughly. The arrestee Abu Fadi, in his sixties, descends from Safad City in .

On 4 March 2016, the Syrian security forces released the Palestinian refugee “Omar Mohammad Ismail Omar”, in his thirties, who was arrested for few months.

In the meanwhile, the camp of Homs city is still witnessing an unprecedented tense situation to the extent the residents started to name the camp as a “big jail” especially after extending the iron fence set up by the regime’s forces that surrounded the camp and isolated it from all neighboring areas and left no service passageways.

In a different topic, in Future Platforms’ project of supporting the young play writers, amongst ten others, four plays belong to PRS girls displaced from to have won the prize, they are: “Hadil Al-Sahli”,

“Dania Ghanayim”, “Hiba Maari” and “Hanadi Al-Shabta” from Al- .

The winner plays will be performed on “Dawwar Al-Shams” theatre (Attayouna, Beirut) by Zuqaq Band.

Hadil Al-Sahli, born in 1992, a Palestinian refugee from Al-Yarmouk Camp living in Lebanon, wrote a play titled “The drown, last minutes of fear” about the hardships endured by refugees while riding the sea boats and heading to Europe.

Using great skill, Al-Sahli chose her play hero to be a conjured spirit of Palestinian guy died by drowning in the sea, made him tell his own story of fear and tiredness while migrating.

Hanadi Al-Shabta, born in 1992, a Palestinian computer engineer displaced from Al-Yarmouk camp to Lebanon, wrote her play “First Siege” talking about the siege of Al-Yarmouk camp represented in the personal story of a boy and two girls who suffer the emotional siege rather than the physical.

Dania Ghanayim, born in 1992, also from Al-Yarmouk Camp displaced to Lebanon, wrote a play titled “Jasmine’s Jail” about the suffering of “Wisam” the Palestinian young man who tried to start over in Lebanon after losing everything in Syria. While Hiba Maari in her play “Divine Letter” narrated the story of the Palestinian girl who moved from Al- Yarmouk Camp to Shatila Camp in Lebanon to work as literacy advisor for female refugees.

It is noteworthy that “Future Platforms” is a project to build long-term capabilities of creative writing that targets the Syrian and Palestinian gifted teenagers aged between 18-25 years. in a different topic, the UNRWA has announced its intention to distribute 100$ as housing allowance to all PRS families in Lebanon for four months, starting from March.

The agency, in its press release, announced that it managed to collect the needed funding through its emergency appeal for Syria 2016, and that the refugees’ ATM cards should be charged starting from 21 March 2016.

It is noteworthy that the UNRWA had cut its housing allowance previously under the pretext of failure of donors' commitments, and cut the cash assistance to 1200 PRS families since October 2014.

Palestinians of Syria in numbers and statistics Until 18 March 2016

 15,000 Palestinian Syrian refugees in ,  6,000 refugees in Egypt, according to the UNRWA's statistics till July 2015.  More than 71,200 Palestinian Syrian refugees have arrived Europe until the end of December 2015.  The Yarmouk Camp: still under siege imposed by the Syrian Regime's Army and PFLP-GC (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command), continued for 1007 days respectively. In addition, power cuts continued for more than 1068 days, water cut for 556 days. The number of victims due to the siege has reached to 186 victims.  Al Sbeina Camp: Syrian Regime's Army still preventing the residents from returning back to their houses for 863 days respectively.  Handarat Camp: All of its residents have left the camp for 1054 days after the Syrian Opposition Groups controlled it.

 Dara’a Camp: Running water cut continues for 717 days, and 70% of its buildings were destroyed.  Jarmana, AL-Saieda Zainab, Al-Raml, Al-Aedein Homs and Al- AedeinHama: A relatively quiet situation in light of the economic crises.  Khan Al-Sheih Camp: Roads linking the camp to the city center are still closed except for Zakia-Khan EShieh road.
