(from Rly.Station : 11 Kms; and from Bus Stn.15 kms.) Local Buses / autorikshaws available. He/She must produce all Original certificates in support of Educational Qualification, age, caste at the time of reporting for Physical and Skill Test. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the above Physical and Skill Test. He/She should make his/her own arrangements for boarding & lodging. He/She should come prepared to stay for next day, if necessary. Superintending Engineer Godavari Circle Note: The basic terms of physical test and Skill test are given on overleaf. The nature of duties of Skilled Work Assistant (SWA) (earlier designated as Khalasi which was equivalent to Group “D” post) are also given. Candidates who succeed in the above physical & skill tests shall be called for final Interview subsequently. To P.T.O. Duties of Skilled Work Assistant Note: The duties mentioned herein are indicative not exhaustive Routine Works: 1. Rowing of boat in river flow / floods to do hydrological observations. 2. Carrying Fish weights / CM boxes, Wading Rods etc. 3. Carrying Dumpy Levels / Leveling Staff for taking river cross sections / Double Leveling / Morphological Surveys etc. 4. River Gauge Reading observation / Copying of Data and maintenance of Site Office premises. 5. Any other miscellaneous works assigned by the Site-in-Charge. 6. Collection of Hourly Gauge Data during monsoon period in different shift. Seasonal Works: 1. Carrying RCC Gauge Post from Site Office to Gauge Site and installation of Gauge Posts. 2. Cleaning of Gauge Lines including grass cutting in river bank. Painting works to Boat / Launch / O.B.Engines etc. 3. Greasing of Cable towers and its maintenance. PHYSICAL TEST / SKILL TEST SHALL BE ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS Candidate should be i) able to carry a weight of 50 Lbs (23 Kgs. Approx.) of Fish Weight and Current Meter Box on river bed (Sandy / Rocky bed ) about ½ Km distance. ii) able to do simple mathematical calculations using calculators and read Scales/Gauge/Tape (measurements) iii) able to read and write in Hindi and/or English. To meet out the rising demand it is crucial to identify and recognize the fresh water resources and also to find out remedial methods for improvement of water quality. So, assessment of ground water quality has always been paramount in the field of environmental quality management. Physico-chemical parameters of groundwater quality based on physic-chemical parameters plays a prominent role in evaluating its suitability for drinking purpose. The present study deals with the determination of water quality index of Thullur mandal, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, in order to ascertain the quality of Groundwater for public consumption, recreation and other purposes. The samples were collected from all 19 villages of Thullur mandal. The samples were analyzed in the laboratory using standard APHA 1985 procedures. From the analyzed data, WQI has been calculated using Weighted Average method. The variations of water quality on different samples were also discussed. Index Terms— Groundwater, Water Quality Parameters, Sampling, Water Quality Standards, Water Quality. 1.
