I must apologize for the delay in the issuing of this copy of B.a.c.l., as I have been somewhat busy, still busy, in the business related to the new General Dat a Protection This quarter the Spotlight is on the Regulations, G.D.P.R. – an ongoing project. I must thank everyone who has responded “ Eversley Choral Union/ Choir ” with “YES” to the GDPR form and if you haven’t then please do so ASAP. This quarter’s “Spotlight” is on the Eversley Choir (a.k.a Eversley Choral Union) . They were founded in 1900 and so have a long history. Rec ently, I rehears ed with Eversley Choir for their spring concert in which I was honoured to perform at Capernwray Hall; a terrific venue ! An extract from the music critic’s review , follows : “ The intercha nge of power and passion was delivered with energy and soul for each entry. Powerful, dy namic entries for ‘His blood be on our children’ showed both anger and passion and transferred this beautifully to the audience. ‘O sacred head sore wounded’ was simply beautiful. Thought provoking and well phrased. People singing from the heart and transferring the lamenting message to the audience perfectly .” There is a vocal workshop being organized by the Lancaster Singers , contact information : - The “Vocal Workshop” will be focus ing on “Mozart’s Requiem Mass” and to be conducted by eminent, professional soloist and voice - coach Christopher Steele. As at the 27 th of May 201 8 these are the Concerts Advised for the Season s 20 1 8 , Spotlight on “ Eversley Choir ” 201 9 and a few for 2020 for t he choirs/ orchestras and venues listed on pages 20 to 2 4 Eversley Choir is a medium sized mixed - voice choir based on the rural South Cumbria/North Lancashire border. We sing a wide range of music, religious and secular, ancient and modern, and n ormally hold 3 concerts a year; our Spring concert is usually a substantial work with professional soloists and orchestral accompaniment. We believe in Confirm ed Dates for 201 8 encouraging young musicians and young singers and have collaborated with several youth groups in recent years.
