New exhibition shows the late King's photos.

In remembrance of His Majesty the late King and his remarkable talents as an artist, the Art and Culture Centre Foundation and the Royal Photographic Society of have arranged the exhibition Through the Lens of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The special event features 200 photographs taken by the late monarch, including some that are being displayed for the first time.

The exhibition is divided into three periods. The first looks at the beginning of his reign and features photographs of Her Majesty Queen and the Prince and Princesses when they were young. These pictures showcase His Majesty’s photographic talents both in black and white and in colour.

The second period looks at the middle of his reign. During this time, the late King famously initiated many social and economic projects. As he toured his kingdom to monitor the progress of these projects and to meet his subjects, he took his cameras with him. Naturally, his photographs from this period focus on issues such as agriculture, irrigation, engineering and social cohesion. His Majesty the King and Princess Ubolratana in 1955.

The third and final part of the exhibition features photographs taken by the late King at and . Among this collection are many images of his beloved pet dogs, including the famous Khun Thong Daeng.

Through the Lens of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej can be seen on the ninth floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre until January 7, 2018. The venue’s opening hours are 10 am to 9 pm on Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit at in Chiang Mai.
