With Nemo Outdoor network operators can perform benchmarking measurements on multiple networks and even on multiple technologies at the same time. Nemo Outdoor supports measurements on TETRA, TDMA, AMPS, cdmaOne, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, CDMA2000, HSDPA, HSDPA 16QAM, and UMA networks. Nemo Outdoor also supports DVB-H measurements. Despite its name, Nemo Outdoor is ideal for indoor measurements as well. Equipped with a Tablet PC, the user can plot the measurement route on a floorplan with the click of a pen. Our close cooperation with several mobile and scanner manufacturers ensures our customers a wide selection of the latest test equipment. Nemo Outdoor collects measurement results and geographical coordinates. Measurement results provide useful information for network planning, roll-out, tuning, verification, optimization, maintenance, and benchmarking purposes. The results can be easily and efficiently viewed with Nemo Analyze SW developed by Anite Finland Ltd. The open ASCII file format of Nemo Outdoor allows results to be imported to third party software applications as well. Nemo Outdoor supports more than 70 different test terminals on one common software platform. Nemo Outdoor with the Indoor option is very well suited for indoor measurements. No big bulky hardware needed: just a phone connected straight to a Tablet PC. www.anite.com/nemo – [email protected] NEMO OUTDOOR™ 4.21 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 4 Test mobiles and scanning receivers supported in Nemo Outdoor 4.21. 1.1 NEW FEATURES IN NEMO OUTDOOR 4.21 • Support for DVB-H measurements • Support for UMTS 900 measurements with Qualcomm chipset • Support for Voice quality measurements with LG VX- 8xxx series cdma terminals • Support for Nemo file format 1.86 • New redesigned automatic device detection • Support for MNC/MCC/Cell ID/ LAC decoding with PCTel GSM scanners • Added UL TBF allocation success rate calculation • User interface improvements e.g. o Parameters can be drag and drop into data views o Color set support for Grid windows o Support for multiple route lines in the indoor map window o Option to display and hide the markers in the Indoor window o New map zooming features o Toolbar buttons for opening user-defined custom windows • Wide selection of new test terminals and scanners o LG U900 (GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900, UMTS 2100, DVB-H 470-702 MHz) o LG KU950 (GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900, UMTS/ HSDPA 2100, DVB-H 470- 702 MHz) www.anite.com/nemo – [email protected] NEMO OUTDOOR™ 4.21 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 5 o LG C680 CDMA 1xEVDO 800MHz o LG VX8300 1xEVDO 800/ 1900MHz o Motorola V3XX EMEA (GSM900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS/HSDPA 2100) o Motorola V3XX NA (GSM850/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900) o Nokia 7376 UMTS (GSM 850/1800/1900, UMTS band IV 1700UL/ 2100) o Nokia 6125 GSM/GPRS test terminal (No EGPRS support) (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) o Nokia N92 (GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900, UMTS 2100, DVB-H 470-702 MHz) o Option GlobeTrotter GT MAX 7.2 Ready HSDPA data card and Option GlobeTrotter HSDPA 7.2 data card (GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100) o Samsung P920 (GSM 900/1800/1900, UMTS2100, DVB-H 470-702 MHz) o Samsung Z560 HSDPA test terminal (GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSDPA 2100) o Samsung ZX20 HSDPA test terminal (GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900) o PCTel LX series scanner for UMTS 1700/2100 (AWS) o PCTel LX series scanner for GSM/UMTS 850/1900MHz www.anite.com/nemo – [email protected] NEMO OUTDOOR™ 4.21 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 6 2 WORKING WITH NEMO OUTDOOR Nemo Outdoor measurement system consists of test mobiles and/or scanning receivers and a GPS receiver with antennas, a PC or a Tablet PC with the Windows® operating system and the Nemo Outdoor measurement software, and connecting cables between the mobiles/scanners/GPS and the PC. 2.1 HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS • PC (IBM or Dell recommended) with Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP Professional • Pentium III processor, minimum 1GHz, preferably 1.7 GHz for single mobile measurements • For multi data measurements Intel® Core Duo processor T2500 2.00GHz recommended • 512MB RAM minimum, 1GB RAM recommended • 100 MB of free hard disk space for installation and use; 1 GB recommended • One parallel port or USB port for copy protection module (if applicable) • Depending on the mobile used, one USB port or one to two serial ports per mobile • Depending on the scanner used, one USB port or one serial port per scanner • One serial port for each voice quality audio module • One RS232 serial port or USB port for an external GPS receiver • Display resolution 1024 x 768 with 256 colors, 1280 x 1024 recommended • Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher for viewing the help file www.anite.com/nemo – [email protected] NEMO OUTDOOR™ 4.21 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 7 2.2 VOICE MEASUREMENTS The voice testing environment consists of Nemo Outdoor compatible mobiles and a PC (user provided or, optionally, provided by Anite Finland Ltd. with all the software installed) with the Windows® XP Professional or Windows® 2000 operating system. The dial-up server is used to establish a data connection between the measurement unit and the application server. Nemo Data Test Server can be used as the application server. It is a Linux-based administration-free server having up to four public IP addresses and it can serve multiple simultaneous TCP/IP connections from test terminals. Nemo Data Test Server supports FTP, HTTP, POP3, SMTP, and RTSP (video streaming). CS data testing is possible on all cellular technologies that support circuit-switched data. The data measurement system has two modes: Send and Receive. In the Send mode, the measurement unit sends data packets to the application server; in the Receive mode vice versa. When an FTP server is used the measurement unit uploads (Send mode) or downloads (Receive mode) test files to or from the FTP server. When an HTTP server is used the measurement unit can only receive files. In CS data measurements, the recorded parameters include: • Number of requested and used timeslots • Requested and used coding schemes • Data call type (Non-transparent/Transparent) • Resource upgrades/downgrades during handovers • Transfer rate (every n second and average) • Packet error rate www.anite.com/nemo – [email protected] NEMO OUTDOOR™ 4.21 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 9 2.4 PACKET-SWITCHED DATA MEASUREMENTS The packet-switched (PS) data testing environments consist of two ends: the measurement unit and an application server. Nemo Data Test Server can be used as the application server.
