We were members of a 40 strong Australian team which, on a pro rata basis, won the most podium placements. Jan and Bob stayed in Canada a little longer and will present a detailed report in the next Vetrunner. Kamloops’ half marathon course had to be altered because of the sighting of grizzly bears (ha ha) and because of icy snow surface at the turn around point (Brrrr) Roger had the choice of either being eaten or frozen. Audun Fristad Awards for Athletics Excellence

These awards acknowledge our most outstanding men and women competitors throughout the track and field season. Recipients may have set Australian or even World Records, performed several times within the upper percentages of WMA age standards and were regular participants at our Thursday night meets. Audun, himself an outstanding athlete, proposed the award during our first season (1982-83).
