When reflecting on all the good the Fashion Show has done for our school and its families over the years, I am especially appreciative of the Mothers Guild and the gifts of their time, charity and Holy Cross spirit. Watching our senior models strut down the ND fashion runway is a rite of passage of sorts and a great school tradition. It’s also a reminder, especially to our wonderful ND mothers, how quickly our children grow and how fast the high school years go by. It is inspiring to see our young men and women on the cusp of adulthood with so much enthusiasm, love and intellect to offer to the world. On behalf of our faculty, staff and students I would like to especially thank our event Chairs, Julie Cleveland and Jen Dicker, and Co-Chair Lisa Gandara for leading many other dedicated Mothers Guild members. I hope you enjoy “Knight Club.” Please know your participation is what makes the Notre Dame family so unique and wonderful. May God continue to bless our Notre Dame students and families. Sincerely yours, Brett A. Lowart President Notre Dame High School 2 3 Dear Holy Cross Mothers Guild Members and Special Guests, SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES elcome to our 45th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show, “Knight Club Presents the 2020 Celebration.” The Class of 2020 has a PRESENTS specialW place in my heart because we were “freshmen” together in the fall of 2016 when I started at Notre Dame. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch these young women and men grow as scholars, athletes and artists, FESTIVAL 2020 campus leaders, and friends. Having a son in this class gave me the added benefit of getting to know so many of the mothers, and many of these friendships were forged through our membership in the Holy Cross Mothers Guild. For more than 60 years the Holy Cross Mothers Guild has existed to provide emotional and financial support for many of our mission and faith- based programs here at Notre Dame including a series of class retreats for freshmen and sophomores, the three day junior Immersion, and the four day Kairos Retreat for seniors. The Guild tends to the spiritual care of our entire Notre Dame community by maintaining the altar in St. Joseph’s Chapel located within the Holy Cross Center, leading us in a monthly rosary and maintaining prayer intentions for the community. Most importantly, the Holy Cross Mothers Guild raises funds through this annual fashion show and luncheon to provide scholarships to current Notre Dame students who have experienced the death of a parent and need financial assistance in order to complete their high school education. When a child suffers the painful loss of a parent, their entire world is impacted and it is so important that they feel a sense of security and consistency, and being able to remain at school with their friends and teachers is perhaps the single most important way we can continue to support them. I know in my heart that in times of great crisis there is no better place for our students than to be here with their Notre Dame family, surrounded by teachers, staff, classmates, and friends who love and care for them. Our students are precious to us; thank you for helping us do all we can to keep them enrolled here at Notre Dame. Friday, May 1st • 6pm to 11pm We are blessed to be surrounded by so many generous and hard-working women, and we will truly miss those of you in the Guild whose children Saturday, May 2nd • Noon to 11pm are graduating this year. This afternoon’s event would not have been possible without the support of so many of our Notre Dame mothers, but Sunday, May 3rd • Noon to 7:30pm especially our Fashion Show Chairs, Julie Cleveland and Jen Dicker, Co- Chair Lisa Gandara, President Cheronda Guyton and Holy Cross Mothers Guild Moderator, Colleen Pace. Thank you, ladies, for your leadership and commitment!
