Lord, for the years your love - CPWI 736 Lord, for the years your love has kept and guided, Lord, for our world; where we disown and doubt him, urged and inspired us, cheered us on our way, loveless in strength, and comfortless in pain; sought us and saved us, pardoned and provided: hungry and helpless, lost indeed without him: Lord of the years, we bring our thanks today. Lord of the world, we pray that Christ may reign. Lord, for that word, the word of life which fires us, Lord, for ourselves; in living power remake us, speaks to our hearts and sets our souls ablaze, self on the cross and Christ upon the throne, teaches and trains, rebukes us and inspires us: past put behind us, for the future take us: Lord of the word, receive your people's praise. Lord of our lives, to live for Christ alone. Lord, for our land in this our generation, spirits oppressed by pleasure, wealth and care: for young and old, for commonwealth and nation, Lord of our land, be pleased to hear our prayer. 6 INTROIT HYMN When all are in their appointed places the following hymn is sung: Fill thou my life, O Lord my God - CPWI 367 Fill thou my life, O Lord my God, So shalt thou, Lord, receive from me, in every part with praise, the praise and glory due; that my whole being may proclaim and so shall I begin on earth thy being and thy ways. the song forever new. Not for the lip of praise alone, So shall each fear, each fret, each care nor e'en the praising heart be turnéd into a song, I ask, but for a life made up and every winding of the way of praise in every part: the echo shall prolong; Praise in the common things of life, So shall no part of day or night its goings out and in; unblest or common be; praise in each duty and each deed, but all my life, in every step however small and mean. be fellowship with thee. Fill every part of me with praise; let all my being speak of thee and of thy love, O Lord, poor though I be and weak. BISHOP Jesus said, I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. A servant is not greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. John 13:15-16. BISHOP To God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus. PEOPLE From generation to generation forever. Amen. BISHOP Let us pray: Almighty and everlasting God, by your spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church that in their vocation and ministry they may truly serve you, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. PEOPLE: Amen 7 THE GLORIA IN EXCELSIS: Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth, Lord God, Heavenly King, Almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy one, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen THE COLLECTS: BISHOP: The Lord be with you PEOPLE: And also with you BISHOP: Let us pray Eternal Father, through your Holy Spirit you have appointed many ministries in the Church.
