ANTHONY BURNS ARENA Trailblazer Stadium has served as the site to numerous Dixie State memories since its construction in 1985. It hosted classic The Burns Arena is regarded as one of the finest collegiate arenas in the nation at the Division II level. It is the primary facility for Dixie junior college rivalry games over the years and was the site of the Dixie Rotary Bowl until 2008. The stadium was built from a State Men’s and Women’s Basketball. The site also hosts various concerts and community events throughout the year. The Burns Arena donation from the George T. Hansen Foundation — a charitable foundation in Salt Lake City, which donates to school related was constructed in 1985 and saw its first games played in 1986. The arena is named for M. Anthony Burns, former Dixie College player activities. The stadium features the Hansen Grandstand on the west side that seats 5,000 fans. Home to Dixie State’s Football, and alumnus, and the former president/CEO of Ryder Systems. The arena features 4,779 permanent seats in 14 seating sections. Soccer, and Track and Field programs, Trailblazer Stadium has seen the completion of the first stages of a new renovation project with the installation of a new football/soccer field and a new state-of-the-art track surface in 2017. In addition, the new east grandstand, with 5,000 additional seats, was completed in May 2018. FRANK HABIBIAN WRESTLING AND ATHLETIC CENTER The 14,300-square-foot Frank Habibian Wrestling and Athletic Center features a 6,400-square-foot weight training facility for DSU student-athletes, along with 4,800 square feet dedicated to youth and college club wrestling. In addition, the Center houses locker-room BRUCE HURST FIELD facilities for the men’s and women’s soccer teams, two coaches’ offices and one classroom. Bruce Hurst Field has been the home of Dixie State University Baseball since 1994. Named after St. George native and former Major League pitcher Bruce Hurst, the stadium has seen its share of great teams in both the junior college and NCAA Division II ranks.
