HAPPPY SILVER JUBILEE TO OUR PASTOR, FR. MEL MONREAL! Our pastor, Fr. Mel Monreal, celebrates his 25th Anniversary of priesthood this Monday, April 27. Fr. Mel will celebrate his Silver Newly-ordained Jubilee together with the parish at a later time. Fr. Mel at his Fr. Mel was ordained at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines, April 27, 1995. The Archdiocese first Mass of Cebu celebrated it’s 400th Anniversary in 1995, so all priests from the four dioceses which make up the Archdiocese were ordained together at one large celebration. (Among the priests also ordained that same day was Fr. Arlou Buslon, our former associate pastor from 2007-08). Fr. Mel served in his Diocese of Tagbilaran for 10 years before being transferred to the Diocese of San Diego in 2005. He has spent the majority of his time at St. Michael’s, as Associate Pastor from 2005-2014, then as Pastor of St. Columba Parish Fr. Mel from 2014-2016, before returning to St. Michael’s as Pastor in the fall of 2016.

Our parish community wishes you a joyful anniversary, Fr. Mel! May God continue to bless you in His service. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you at a later time.
