CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE – Ornaments are still available on the Giving Tree. If you aren’t attending church in person and would still like to participate, call Janet in the parish office 570-636-3035 or just stop in to get a gift tag. If you prefer to purchase a Walmart Gift Card, just bring it to the office. We will match it to a gift tag. If making a monetary donation is easier and safer, we will be happy to do your shopping for you. MOST IMPORTANT: All gifts are due in the church or parish office by Sunday, December 6th. If you find you are unable to purchase the gift or if you lose your ornament or if your gift will be delayed, PLEASE call the parish office and let us know. Not buying the gift or not letting us know that it will be late means that we have to go out at the last minute and try to find the item and purchase it so no child is forgotten on morning. A MESSAGE FROM FATHER MIKE: This weekend the church celebrates the Feast of Christ the King. This is the last Sunday of the . Next weekend we begin the Season. With this special Feast of Christ the King, we are encouraged to look back at the liturgical year. What a year it has been! I remember when the pandemic began, hoping that we would get the services in – and we know what happened with them. Fortunately, we did get back into church, although socially different and with masks. We now have Mass celebrated virtually and in parking lots. My challenge to you is that you re-dedicate yourself to being at Mass, whatever that is for you! We cannot let a pandemic stand in the way of our celebration of the Eucharist. If Christ is really your King, show Him how much the Liturgy means to you!

A VIEW FROM THE PEW, THANKSGIVING. We’ve been through a lot this year and for many in this country Thanksgiving is going to be a challenge. We’re still dealing with a virus, been through a rough election cycle, watched in horror as some of our cities burned, and were overwhelmed with violence. One might say, “Thanksgiving, yeah right!” We do have much to be thankful for, our faith, family, community, and a thriving parish. “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.” Hebrews 12:28. Happy Thanksgiving! !

ATTENTION ALL LECTORS: There is a Lector Workbook in the back sacristy of the church for each of you with your name on it. This book begins with the readings for the First Sunday in Advent and continues throughout the liturgical year. A great feature of this book is that it not only offers you the readings at your fingertips, but it also has a pronunciation key in the left margin to help with those difficult words. Please pick up your copy at your earliest convenience. This is for all lectors, even if you are not actively reading at this time.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The holidays are coming and with the pandemic and quarantine still in full swing, there are more and more people who are feeling very alone. If you know of someone who could use a boost of kindness from their parish family, please get their names added to our “Hour of Kindness” greeting card list. Everyone likes to be remembered, and we are so happy to send out a monthly “Thinking of You” greeting card. All you need to do is call Janet in the parish office at 570-636-3035. It’s that easy. And if that person is YOU, please make sure you call!
