On Wednesday, the entire Early Childhood family celebrated the completion of the first book of the , Sefer Bereishit! All long, the children reviewed the Parshiot in the Sefer and prepared two Parsha booths for our interactive Siyum. Each grade gathered in the gym for a mini lesson connecting the table activities to the Parsha depicted at each station. The children then enjoyed the hands-on Parsha activities at each station. Thank you to the 7th grade girls who helped run the different booths and helped make this fair a success. Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us. We hope you enjoyed as much as we did. Parshat Parshat Hashem promised Noach that Bereishit He would never bring a Mabul to destroy the world again. Make the 1st day of What was the sign He gave creation. Light/Dark Noach? Let’s make a rainbow!

Make a ladder, Daven like Yaakov. What do you ask Hashem for? just like the ladder in Yaakov’s dream. Don’t forget to make Yaakov sleeping on the bottom.

Parshat Yayeishev

Parshat

Make Paroah’s dream of the 7 skinny cows swallowing the 7 fat cows, but not getting any bigger. Yosef interpreted this as 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. Parshat

Make Serach’s harp.

Serach played on her kinor, “Yosef is alive!”

Parshat For Parshat Vayechi, the kindergartners wrote brachas (using Vayechi inventive spelling) for all the children, just like Yaakov gave a bracha to all of his children. When the children approached the Get a bracha from booth, they took a bracha from Yaakov Avinu and Morah read it Yaakov Aveinu. to them. We ended the program by singing, “Chazak, Chazak, V’Nitchazek!” Morah taught us that when we learn Torah it makes us stronger and stronger! We got a double thumbs up from Morah for completing the first book of the Torah. We are so excited that we already began to learn the from the 2nd book of the Torah, Sefer ! On Sunday evening we had a wonderful time at the Hamalach Hagoel Chesed program. We discussed the we have been working on, Zerizut, and connected it to our won- derful Chesed project: collecting shoes, tights, leggings and socks for the Monsey Shoe Gemach so that ALL children can “run” to do a Mitzvah! We then heard a wonderful story about using our feet to “run” to do Mitzvot! Here are some pictures from the event.

Project Time: The children created beautiful sneaker necklaces out of black and colorful beads. They will wear their neck- laces to remind them to always do their Mizvot B’Zerizut, in a snap! After the projects, we sat back down and reviewed the week’s Parsha and remembered how Yaa- kov gave all of his chil- dren a Bracha. We dis- cussed how Yaakov gave his grandsons a very special Bracha. We went under Jacobson’s BIG tallis. We listened as the Rab- bi gave us a special Bracha and then sang Hamalach Hagoel all together!
