Te Awamutu Primary School students are calling for other kids to ‘take them on’ in the iconic Maunga Cycle Challenge. There’s a range of children’s events being run as part of the ‘Maunga’ on Sunday, November 13 and TAPS students are seeking some healthy competition. Lydia Gallagher from Team Energize is calling for local chil- dren to ‘get out there and be active’ and enter the Maunga. The Maunga Challenge is a massive event for Te Awamutu — it’s an event with a national reputa- tion where elite cyclists join recreational cyclists for the day. Gallagher says it is a great opportunity for families and young people to be inspired by top athletes and have a go themselves. Team Energize run the Bikes ‘n Trikes event at Albert Park while the longer cycle events are underway. This event is full of fun and includes obstacle courses, challenging activities and games for children to test and improve their bike skills. Bikes ‘n Trikes is suitable for pre-schoolers through to 9-10 year olds of all riding abilities. ‘‘Be ready to have a fantastic day of fun. Win double pass to Russian Ballet Festival

Experience the best in ballet when the Imperial Russian Ballet Company delivers an encore performance in Hamilton’s Founders Theatre on Thursday, November 17. Their first show sold out in double quick time, so here’s your chance to win tickets to the second show. Acknowledged as tops in their field, The Imperial Russian Ballet Company will present a diverse and stunning programme in three awe-inspiring acts. • Act One – Don Quixote. Imperial Russian ballet head, Gedinimas Taranda has taken the four acts of the original ballet and magically transformed them into one impetuous act. Brilliant! • Act Two – Bolero. Ravel was inspired to create this striking and dramatic masterpiece after visiting a large industrial factory. There he noticed the slow regular movement of the assembly lines and the crash of the machinery and materials. Bolero is regarded as one of the world’s musical masterpieces. • Act Three – Highlights from the world’s great ballets including Giselle, Carmen The Dying Swan and Le Corsaire. Also expect Gopak and Can Can Surprise. The Imperial Russian Ballet have performed this three- hour ballet extravaganza worldwide, thrilling audiences and impressing critics. Now it’s your turn! Tickets are also available from Ticketek.

■ To be in to win simply put your name, address and daytime phone number on the back of a standard sized envelope, address it to The Imperial Russian Ballet Company competition and make This competition is provided by ‘Fill The House Tickets Project’, sure it reaches the Te Awamutu Courier office by 5pm, Friday. proudly supporting families of children with cancer.
