One of a collection of 3461 dried plants from the herbarium of George Clifford (1685-1760) which he started to create in the 1720's . Many of the plants were pressed from his own garden, which was cultivated from seeds collected in the early exploration of Asia, the Americas and Europe, as well as being gleaned from other European gardens.
