‘DESTINATION WEDDING’ Cast Bios ALEXA PENAVEGA (Ellie Hamilton) – Alexa PenaVega, a Miami native, is an actress and a singer. Her career began as a young girl in 1996, when she starred as Jo Harding in the hit film Twister. After that, she guest-starred in various television shows and films such as “The Bernie Mac Show,” “ER” and “Ghost Whisperer.” The movie that catapulted her to worldwide fame was the 2001 film Spy Kids, in which she starred as Carmen Cortez. After the enormous success of that movie, there were two sequels: Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, as well as the 2011 reprisal, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World. PenaVega went on to appear in many other films such as Sleepover, State’s Evidence, Odd Girl Out, Walkout, Remember the Daze, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Helix, The Devil’s Carnival and The Pregnancy Project. While PenaVega has an impressive movie filmography, she has also had massive success in other areas of the entertainment industry. She played Penny in Hairspray on Broadway, had TV roles in shows such as “Ruby & The Rockits,” and “Big Time Rush,” appeared in Aerosmith’s “Legendary Child” and was a contestant on Season 21 of “Dancing with the Stars.” PenaVega is also a singer – over the course of her Spy Kids career she contributed three songs to the various movie soundtracks (“Isle of Dreams,” “Game Over” and “Heart Drive”). She also sang “Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You” for Walt Disneys Records’ compilation album Songs to Celebrate the 25 Days of Christmas in 2009. In the last few years, PenaVega has been seen in movies such as 23 Blast, Machete Kills, Bounty Killer, Wicked Blood, The Remaining and The Hunter. PenaVega has been happily married to Carlos PenaVega since 2014 and they recently welcomed their first child. In her spare time, she enjoys gymnastics and freshwater fishing. # # # JEREMY GUILBAUT (Greg Mount) – Jeremy Guilbaut was born in Vancouver, Canada to a French father and American mother. This “international” upbringing had a profound effect on his life and worldview as his family (he has a younger sister) spent a lot of his childhood traveling throughout North America and Europe. This included spending time growing up in Paris, France for a couple of stints. But it was in Vancouver, at Prince of Wales high school, where he caught the acting bug. Participating in improv and the various school plays really ignited his passion for acting. It was during his first year there that he booked the lead in a kid’s detective TV series called “Daring & Grace” that filmed on the other side of the country in Moncton, New Brunswick. After returning home, Jeremy was cast in a multitude of roles including the teen soap “Edgemont” alongside alumns Kristin Kreuk, Dominic Zamprogna and Grace Park. Next he was cast as one of the leads in the Hallmark Channel miniseries “Snow Queen” co-starring Bridget Fonda, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale. Other roles included a recurring role on “Battlestar Galactica” as well as Two For The Money alongside Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino. From 2008 to 2009 Jeremy starred in the Canadian Coast Guard series “The Guard” for Global Television. In it, he played Andrew Vanderlee a rescue swimmer dealing with post traumatic stress syndrome. The job was an amazing experience as it included filming out in the Pacific Ocean on real Canadian coast guard vessels. In recent years, Jeremy has been incredibly busy teaming up with Hallmark Channel for a number of projects. Among them, “My Boyfriend’s Dogs” alongside Erika Christensen, “Sandra Brown’s White Hot” with Shenae Grimes-Beech, Sean Faris and John Schneider and “All Things Valentine” with Sam Page and Sarah Rafferty. “Autumn in the Vineyard” was a particularly enjoyable experience as part of it filmed in beautiful Osoyoos wine country in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Jeremy will be particularly recognizable to fans (the “Hearties”) of the Hallmark Channel series “When Calls the Heart”. Beginning in season four, Guilbaut was cast as the conniving and dastardly Ray Wyatt, the head of the railroad and thorn in the side of the two leading ladies of Hope Valley, Elizabeth and Abigail. Jeremy currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Vancouver. # # # RAFAEL SIMON (Javier) – Rafael Simon is a film, television and theatre actor whose training started at the National Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC. He also studied at the University of Maryland, the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory in DC and Casa del Teatro in Mexico City. He has participated in over 20 film productions, including: The Argentine, Cinco de Mayo, Dariela On Tuesdays, Allá y En Tonces, Never on a Sunday, Sueño, A Day Without a Mexican, and Sin Ton Ni Sonia to mention a few. During his career, he has worked with directors such as Steven Soderbergh, Gabriel Beristain, Daniel Gruener, Rafa Lara, Mauricio T. Valle, Sergio Arau and Fernando Rovzar, among others. On television, he is currently airing on Univision with “La Piloto.” He has also participated in “Gritos de Dolores” and “Mauricios” for the Televisa network (Mexico). He enjoys dancing, baseball, soccer, volleyball, fencing, motorbiking, riding, skiing, mountain biking and climbing. # # # ANDREA BROOKS (Mandy Hamilton) – Andrea Brooks in a Canadian actress best known for her role of Faith Carter in the Hallmark Channel’s original series “When Calls the Heart,” and for her quirky portrayal of Eve Tessmacher on The CW’s “Supergirl,” as initially portrayed by Valerie Perrine in the original Superman films. Recently, Brooks has guest starred in a number of hit shows such as “Bates Motel,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Unreal” and “The Flash,” where she once again resumed her role as Miss Tessmacher. In addition to her television credits, Brooks is a frequent player on the Hallmark Channel, having appeared in five original movies to date. Growing up, she trained in figure skating, dance, music and theatre. Brooks holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree from The University of British Columbia and is also fluent in French. When she is not busy with work, she enjoys writing, running, hanging out with her dogs and playing the ukulele. # # # ANDREW DUNBAR (Jason Groff) – Andrew Dunbar discovered his love of acting in high school. After he graduated, he decided to move to LA to make sure it was what he really wanted to do. It turned out to be the wildest, most bizarre, and eye-opening four months of his life. He started out living at a hostel on Hollywood Blvd. in a room with seven other people and wound up living in the guest house of a Los Angeles acting manager doing yard work to earn his keep. Upon returning to Vancouver, Dunbar began to realize his dreams with roles such as a supporting lead in the mockumentary “Alien Trespass” for Space and a recurring role on the dramatic SyFy series “SGU Stargate Universe.” He followed that in short order by booking a recurring role on the comedy “Tower Prep” for CN and guest starred on the action-packed “Arrow” for the CW. Following that, he had a lead role in “Garage Sale Mystery” for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and also had a recurring role in the Hallmark Channel series, “When Calls the Heart.” In recent years, he has started to started to produce his own projects, most recently producing and performing a lead role in the gritty feature film, She Who Must Burn. # # # -- HALLMARK CHANNEL – .
