After a few cancellations in 1996 the band finally did their first European Tour in 1997, also the first time I saw them live. That even proved me more that this band was something special and from that moment on I bought every t-shirt and every item which had to do with the band. In 1999 me and my long-time buddy Thijz, a Deftones fan also, build a website (www.dutchdeftones.com R.I.P.) to expose all the stuff we knew and own about the band and share it with other fans. Other fans could send in photo’s and information to make the site a great source for more fans. By that time another great fansite was born called www.deftonesworld.com. That website is still alive and is maintained by my Portugese pal Nuno Rolinho. Also de fansite is still famous for being the best website/source for Deftonesfans out there. I will be honest to say that I thought that the power and energy, the first Deftones live performances where famous for, died a little round 2001 but still, on recordings Deftones remained an outstanding, fresh band, re-inveniting themselves all the time.
