Name and Mission: SIGMOD: SIGMOD Management of Data

SIGMOD is organized and will be operated exclusively for educational, scientific, and technical purpose in its specialty, which is the management of data bases stored in computing machinery, including techniques for describing such databases, efficiently access them, securing them against unauthorized intrusion.

SIGMOD Jim Gray Doctoral Dissertation Given annually to recognize excellent research by doctoral candidates in the database field.
