The BGS Global Leadership Summit combines personal growth, professional networking, and hands-on practice into three days of intense learning. Students will be pushed outside of their comfort zones and have the opportunity to take their skills to the next level.

4 Carol J. Carter Founder, LifeBound; CEO and Founder, GlobalMindED Carol J. Carter is the founder of LifeBound and the CEO and founder of GlobalMindED. She is a national and international student success author, speaker, seventeen-year corporate veteran and entrepreneur who has traveled for work (or pleasure) to almost 60 countries.

Carol began her career at Prentice-Hall at age 26, where she was the first female assistant vice president; at age 30, she became the first female vice president at the company.

She is the lead author of the Keys to Success Series for college freshmen, which helps students connect their academic learning to their professional future. The series is multidisciplinary and is read by students in majors from business to science to engineering. The series has been published in Canadian, Chinese, Spanish, Swedish and Arabic and has been read by 3 million college freshmen, earning $65 million for Pearson.

She self-funded LifeBound, a content and coaching company teaching faculty to facilitate and champion students’ professional abilities to prepare them to excel as contributors outside of college.

After surviving cancer in 2014, Carol started and funded GlobalMindED to help first generation college students and low-income teenagers get the “hidden curriculum,” role models, mentors, internships and jobs to ensure that they graduate college, secure high earning employment and have access to promotions and leadership opportunities. To date, GlobalMindED has placed more than 350 low income and first generation college students into high earning jobs.

he Beta Gamma Sigma Entrepreneurial Achievement Award, formerly called the Medallion for Entrepreneurship Award, provides national recognition to those individuals who Tdevelop, organize, and enhance successful new ventures. Recipients of this signature honor have assumed the risk of starting a business or initiating a new venture/idea within a larger organization. The intent is to focus on our entrepreneurs as the people who drive innovation, our economic engine, and support for new ideas. Beta Gamma Sigma Chapters are eligible to nominate entrepreneurs based on the following criteria:

• Entrepreneurs who develop, organize, and launch a successful business venture or social entrepreneurship endeavor that has demonstrated success and proven through its operational results to be a sustainable concept • Exemplars for ethical business leadership and the values of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society, including honor and integrity, and the pursuit of wisdom, earnestness, and service are sought

Danielle Bowman Founder, DaniMation Entertainment, LLC Nominated by Woodbury University

Danielle Bowman founded her company, DaniMation Entertainment LLC, at age 11. She has worked professionally in the animation industry since she was 14. Bowman uses her passions for public speaking, animation, illustration, fine and visual arts, and teaching to demonstrate to others on the autism spectrum that anything is possible.

Since age 15, Bowman has led summer animation camps around the country, initially with Joey Travolta's Inclusion Films; she then expanded out on her own to teach more than 1,000 teens and young adults with autism and other disabilities. Bowman not only teaches animation, but also works with her students as a role model and mentor, encouraging them to follow their dreams.

Bowman is a national speaker, giving talks about autism and employment nationally since she was 19, keynoting a wide range of conferences throughout the U.S.

Bowman has also premiered eight award-wining animated short films at San Diego Comic-Con each year for the past seven years. Her shorts feature the voices of Joe Mantegna, Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants), June Foray, Debi Derryberry, and Stella Ritter, among others.

Bowman graduated from Woodbury University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in animation in 2018, and she is currently completing a Master of Business Administration with a focus in organizational strategy and leadership at Woodbury.

Mark A. Casale President, CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Essent Group Ltd. Nominated by Saint Joseph's University

Mark A. Casale joined PwC in 1986 and completed an MBA at New York University in 1989. He has held senior positions at Advanta Corporation (SVP, 1992), Society Hill Capital Management (VP, 2000), and Radian Group, Inc. (SVP Strategic Investments, 2001; SVP Capital Markets, 2004; EVP Mortage Insurance 2005; president, 2006). Essent Group Ltd. named him president and CEO in 2008 and chairman of the board in 2013.

In 2014, Casale received the Ernst & Young Greater Philadelphia and National Entrepreneur of the Year awards (financial services category). The awards recognize outstanding, high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. He is a member of the Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) board of trustees and the Magis Society for major donors, and he was inducted into the Haub School of Business Hall of Fame in 2016.

Casale’s generosity to SJU includes donations of $1.5 million to support the Dean’s Leadership Program, Women’s Forum, Accounting Alumni Society, Collegiate Business Ethics Case competition, HSB Hall of Fame, and the Shield of Loyola Award for distinguished alumni. He was instrumental in the purchase of 40 acres adjacent to SJU’s main campus, which nearly doubled SJU’s physical presence. Additionally, Casale recently donated $1 million to support SJU’s accounting program and $1 million for its scholarship fund for students with financial need.

Ted Castle President, Rhino Foods & The Rhino Foods Foundation Nominated by The

University of Vermont (UVM) graduate Ted Castle incorporated Rhino Foods with his wife, Anne, in 1981. They opened an ice cream shop while Ted was assistant hockey coach at UVM. In 1991, Rhino partnered with Ben and Jerry’s to invent the new flavor sensation: cookie dough ice cream. The company is now the #1 producer of cookie dough inclusions for ice cream.

Rhino is a certified B Corporation; its most distinguished awards are the Terry Ehrlich Award for Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, University of Vermont First Generation Family Enterprise Award, Optimas Award for vision in the workplace, Hal Taussig B Corp Award for using business as a force for good, Forbes Magazine’s Small Giants Award, and Inc. Magazine’s “Best Companies to Work For.”

Castle’s passion is to create positive social change through business. His company emphasizes long term financial health by investing in its customers, employees and community.

At Rhino, Castle has been innovating workplace practices with open book management and by offering an employee exchange program, on-site resource coordinator, and English classes, as well as an income advance program.

In 2019, Ted and Anne founded the Rhino Foods Foundation with a mission to “develop and promote financial security programs for employees that make good business sense.”

Castle has served on the boards of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, the United Way, Shelburne Farms, and the Community Sailing Center.

Ibukun Awosika Founder & CEO, The Chair Centre Group Nominated by Lagos Business School Ibukun Awosika is an award-winning entrepreneur and chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Limited. She is also the founder and CEO of The Chair Centre Group, which includes companies involved in manufacturing, retail and bankway security systems services.

Awosika chairs a number of corporate and not-for-profit boards, including The Convention on Business Integrity, House of Tara International and Afterschool Graduate Development Centre. She sits on the boards of Cadbury Nigeria Plc., Imperial Gate School and Peniel Apartments Limited.

Awosika holds a chemistry degree from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in Nigeria and is an alumna of the Chief Executive program at Lagos Business School; the Global Executive MBA program at IESE Business School; and Global CEO programs at Wharton, IESE and China European International Business School.

Awosika is a co-founder and past chairman of Women in Business, Management and Public Service. In 2008, she was awarded the prestigious International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) Award; in 2019, she was appointed to serve the IWEC as its president. She is also an ordained pastor and the founder of the Christian Missionary Fund.

As a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative, Aspen Global Leadership Network, Institute of Directors and Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, Awosika aspires to raise entrepreneurs to create jobs for Nigeria’s unemployed youth. She is a member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, served on the National Job Creation Committee, and sits on the international advisory board of IESE Business School and the governing council of Pan-Atlantic University.

Ibukun Awosika Jennifer Morgan Founder & CEO, The Chair Centre Group Co-CEO, SAP Nominated by Lagos Business School Nominated by James Madison University Jennifer Morgan is co-chief executive officer of SAP, the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software with nearly 100,000 employees and more than 437,000 customers across the globe. Before being named Co-CEO of SAP, Morgan served as president of SAP’s Cloud Business Group, where she was responsible for the company’s cloud lines of business and spearheaded SAP’s aggressive shift to the cloud.

In 2017, Morgan became the first American woman ever appointed to the SAP Executive Board when she was named president of the Americas and Asia Pacific Japan. As president of SAP North America from 2014 to 2017, she helped build a culture that earned SAP North America its first ever listing on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”

Morgan is the first female CEO in SAP history and the first woman to serve as CEO of a company on the German DAX 30 index. She has been named multiple times as one of Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Business and by Forbes as one of the Most Powerful Women in the World. She is a proud graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and serves on its college of business’ board of advisors.

Peter Simons President and CEO, La Maison Simons Nominated by Concordia University

Peter Simons is the president and CEO of La Maison Simons. Mr. Simons began working at La Maison Simons in 1986, and he was the fifth generation to lead the family business in 1996.

Under Simons’ leadership, La Maison Simons experienced unprecedented commercial growth and territorial expansion—moving from one store in Quebec City to 15 throughout Canada (admired for their award-winning interiors and architectural designs). The company has more than 2,500 skilled employees, over 50 buyers, an ultramodern distribution center for the merchandise equipped with cutting-edge technology and an e-commerce center that is constantly pushing to innovate.

Since Simons first started working at La Maison Simons in the 80s, the company went from $12 million in annual revenue to more than $400 million, all while championing good working conditions. Mr. Simons is a strong vocal advocate for fair fiscal and social practices.

Simons was recognized as a Knight of the National Order of Quebec and the Order of Mecenas of Quebec City in 2008. In 2018, he was named a Member of the Order of Canada by Governor General Julie Payette, and Personality of the Year by the French language newspaper La Presse. In 2019, he was presented with an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in Montreal for his leadership in the highly competitive retail world.

16 Dr. Bob G. Wood Dean, Mitchell College of Business University of South Alabama – Mobile, Alabama

Dr. Bob G. Wood was named dean of the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama (“South”) in July 2014. As dean, Wood works with Mitchell faculty, the university, and external constituents to enhance the Mitchell student experience. He also works with the community to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new relationships to better prepare students for the 21st century global economy.

During Wood’s tenure at South, the Executive Advisory Council membership was significantly expanded and regionalized. Also, center and discipline- specific advisory councils were created. The Professional Readiness Engagement Program, a professional development and internship program was developed and implemented. Most recently, the college’s Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program was changed to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing.

Before Wood joined the Mitchell College, he served four years as dean of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University. As dean, he led the redesign of the longstanding student entrepreneurship competition from a single-round business plan competition to a three- round competition judged by regional business professionals. Total prize money increased from $5,000 to more than $100,000. In 2014, Wood was named the Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Dean.

Before joining Salisbury University, Wood was associate dean and the Heidtke Professor of Finance at Tennessee Tech University. While associate dean, he was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the online MBA program.

18 CHAPTER ADVISOR OF THE YEAR Dr. Fauzia Jabeen Associate Professor of Management; Head of Engagement and Corporate Relations, College of Business Nominated by Abu Dhabi University - Abu Dhabi,

Dr. Fauzia Jabeen has been with the College of Business at Abu Dhabi University since 2010. She holds a Ph.D. in management and has more than 18 years of experience in teaching, consulting and research. She has published many articles on productivity and performance management, organizational development, gender studies, enterprise development, social responsibility and sustainability.

Jabeen is also the head of engagement and corporate relations at Abu Dhabi University. She has served as the BGS chapter advisor since its inception in 2015. To build awareness and support, she masterminded various BGS events—including a distinguished speaker series featuring the Ambassador of the Embassy of Finland, as well as top executives from companies throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Jabeen is one of the founding members of the BGS-UAE Alumni Network; she started the executive shadowing program for second- and third-year business students, and established the BGS Mentorship Program—a unique, two tiered career development program. She was recently selected for the new BGS Chapter Advisor Council, which was formed to enhance the engagement and success of BGS’ collegiate chapter advisors.

Highly active in education and research, Jabeen has received scholarly awards and research grants from various funding agencies that include the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at Abu Dhabi University, Al Hosn Gas, and Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority.
