DISCLAIMER 36 3 1. Admission Procedure 1.1. Online Registration a) All the candidates seeking admission to the Postgraduate (PG)/master’s courses including course offered by SOL are required to register online on PG admission web portal of University of Delhi. b) There is a common Web Portal for the centralized registration of applicants and a common registration form for admission to all the Postgraduate Courses in the University. Online registration details are available on the PG admission portal of the University of Delhi. c) The registered applicants can also provide preference for SOL (if seeking admission in SOL). Applicant must pick options carefully as no modification is allowed after submission of the form 1.2. Mode of admission and Seat availability: - a) In all the Faculties/Departments, except the ones offering interdisciplinary or professional courses, there are two modes of admission for postgraduate courses: i. Merit or Direct: 50% of the total intake shall be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi only on the basis of merit. This mode is not available to students from other Universities. ii. Entrance Test: Remaining 50% of the seats shall be filled through entrance examination and Interview/Group Discussion, if any. b) It may again be noted that all the applicants seeking admission to the postgraduate courses offered by SOL are also required to register online, irrespective of the mode of intake. c) Reservation/ concession to the prescribed extent shall apply separately in both the modes (Direct and Entrance) in compliance with the rules notified by the University from time to time. The Departments will release the Admission lists in both modes, separately for all categories. 1.3. Intimation regarding Admission a) Results of the Entrance Examination and Interviews/Group Discussion, if any, shall be notified on the PG admission portal of the University of Delhi. b) Selected applicants are required to furnish the necessary documents at the time of admission and deposit the Admission fee. c) For all the news and updates related to PG admissions, visit PG admission portal. 1.4 Admission procedure for SOL 4 The applicants who wish to be considered for admission in School of Open Learning (SOL) may opt for the same at the time of registration and no separate registration with SOL is required. However, after declaration of the result of Entrance test/publishing of merit list by the University of Delhi, all other procedure for admission will be done by the SOL and for that applicant has to apply in SOL. Applicants desiring to take admission in SOL are advised to regularly visit SOL website i.e. https://sol.du.ac.in (For Entrance Merit Based and Direct Merit Based merit list for admission). The postgraduate programmes offered at Master of Arts in Hindi, History, Political Science, SOL Sanskrit Master of Commerce 2. Identity Cards The SOL students will download their Identity Cards online from the SOL website https://sol.du.ac.in latest by 31stDecember 2020. Every student is required to have an Identity Card of the School. Students are advised to contact the concerned Admission Unit (Room No 19) at the SOL North Campus, if he/she is not able to download his/her Identity Card. Span Period of Study All Post Graduate Courses offered by the School have a Specified minimum and maximum allowed span period for completing the same. Office Hours The School remains open for interaction with students on all working days from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Office of the School remains closed on Saturdays, Sundays and other declared Holidays. 5. Essential Documents to be submitted 5.1. At the time of Online Registration for Entrance Test For details visit the DU website www.du.ac.in for Post Graduate Registration. 5.2. At the Time of Admission In all cases the required fees should be deposited in SOL with the Printed Copy of Online Admission Form through Cash/Bank Draft drawn on State Bank of India/ any Nationalized Bank in favor of The Principal, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi, Payable at New Delhi. Please ensure that the following documents are to be submitted along-with the Printed Copy of Online Admission Form. In case the relevant documents are not enclosed, your Application for Admission will not be considered. (i) Duly filled Online Admission Form. (ii) Cash/Bank Draft for Category ‘A; Rs. 4990/- Category ‘B’ Rs. 4490/- and Category ‘C’ Rs.13490/- for M.A. (History, Political Science, Sanskrit) and Category ‘A’ Rs. 5140/-, Category ‘B’ Rs. 4640/- and Category ‘C’ Rs.13640/-for M.A.(Hindi) and M.Com. The details are available at Sr. No.20.5, 20.6 and 20.7. (iii) Two recent passport size photographs. (iv) Self-attested Photocopy of 10th Class Certificate. (v) Self-attested Photocopy of 12th Class Passing Certificate. (vi) Self-attested Photocopy of I, II and III year Marksheet. (vii) Original Provisional Certificate of Graduation for current year students. However, other Students will have to submit the photocopy of Degree Certificate. (viii) Migration Certificate in original of the respective University if the candidate is studied from other than Delhi University. (ix) Self attested photocopy of Reserve Category Certificates of candidate only, if applicable (for example SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS etc.) The certificate of the candidate must be released by the Competent Authority before the date of admission. (x) Latest Original Income Certificate, if applying for fee concession. 6 (xi) Self attested photocopy of BPL Ration Card as well as Original Income Certificate if applying for Financial Assistance. (xii) Disability certificate, in case of Physical with Disability candidates issued by the competent hospital/board. (xii) Candidates are required to produce all the Original Certificates for verification at the time of admission. (xiii) The Enrolment number allocated by the College/University is essential to fill in the admission form.
