The Girls Write Now Awards will take place on May 23, 2017 at City Winery in New York City, and our lineup of honorees includes Zadie Smith, author of Swing Time; Sophia Amoruso, Author & Founder of Girlboss; Ilana Glazer, Co-creator & Co-star of Broad City; Melissa Harris– Perry, Editor-at-Large at Elle.com; Abbi Jacobson, Co-creator & Co-star of Broad City; with Elaine Welteroth, Editor of Teen Vogue, as emcee for the evening and accompanied by a mentee co-emcee.

Our theme this year is Rise Speak Change: Never has our mission been more important.

Help us spread the word about the Awards. Whether you’re tweeting, posting, pinning, tumbling, or gram- ming — make sure you stand out in all that noise. See below for some general social media tools, hashtags, sample posts and more!

General Tools: • Short and sweet: keep your request to the point! • Get Personal: your community knows and likes you, so add your personal touch. • Never start a tweet with @girlswritenow — add a period beforehand (.@girlswritenow) so it reaches the widest audience possible. • Did you know you can tag us in Facebook posts? Just start with @Girls Write Now and you should be able to select us from the list. • When you include a link in a Facebook post, once the post is attached to the webpage, delete the char- acters of the link. In the example below, you’d delete the highlighted link since the portion below links to the webpage.
