What is Arterial BRT? • Upgrade of Existing Bus Service to improve speed, reliability, and capacity • Experience for user similar to BRT and LRT with off board payment, level boarding, limited stops, frequent and fast service • Typical Project Construction – Utilizes existing roadways for service – Building of stations that include technology, payment systems, waiting areas. Also includes upgrades at signals. – Construction coordinated with street construction where possible – Electrification of fleet and incorporation of charging stations emerging as project component
