01.07.2017  The Goods and Service Tax (GST) rolls out, the all powerful GST Council has reduced the tan rate on fertilizer to 5% from previously decided 12%.The GST council, in another move to give relief to farmers , also cut the tax rate on exclusive Paris of tractors from 28% to 18%.  The Government has lowered interest rate on small saving schemes by 0.1% for July – September quarter. The move will prompt banks to lower deposits rates. The rates of small savings scheme like PPF, Kisan Vikas Patra & Sukanya Samiriddhi have been lowered across the board compared to the April – June quarter Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) investments will yield 7.5% and mature in 115 months.  India has contributed $5,00,000 to the UN peace building fund , expressing hope that more funding by nations will boast efforts by the world body to build and sustain peace.
