LANGUAGE Because of Miami’s diverse community and to eliminate language barriers, presentations will be held in both English and Spanish. The English presentation will take place in Riverfront North (lobby level) and the Spanish presentation will take place in Foster (3rd floor located one level above the lobby).

HEALTH 4:00PM-7:00PM. Health screenings will be conducted in Riverfront North and Pearson Rooms 1 SCREENINGS and 2 (3rd floor, 1 level above the lobby) by Clinical Research of South , the COPD Foundation, the Segal Institute for Clinical Research, Type 1 Alpha Foundation, Care Resource, and Walgreens. Health screenings will include: BMI, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, A1C Point of Care, Anemia, Memory, Breast health/risks/self-exams, COPD, HIV Screenings, Depression screens, Pneumonia vaccines, Flu vaccines, Hepatitis A/B vaccines, and Whooping Cough vaccines

PUBLIC The City of Miami offers a free trolley service, the , for your convenience. The Hyatt TRANSPORTATION Regency is located across from the Knight Center stop. The Metrorail provides service to Miami International Airport (MIA) and runs from Kendall through South Miami, Coral Gables, and downtown Miami; to the Civic Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital area; and to Brownsville, Liberty City, Hialeah, and Medley in northwest Miami-Dade, with connections to Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station. FREE PARKING For those who plan to drive to the event, here are the steps to obtain your free parking pass!

 When you pull into the parking garage (adjacent to the Hyatt Regency and connected by a covered walk-way), you will be prompted to collect a ticket.  Please visit the AWARE for All check-in/registration table in front of the RiverFront North Room (just follow signs to “AWARE for All Information Alley” upon your arrival).  Once you check-in to AWARE for All, please alert the CISCRP staff that you have self-parked in the Miami Tower parking garage. We will provide you with a “parking chaser.”  Upon your departure from the event, please insert your original ticket as you exit the garage. After the original ticket is inserted into the machine, the machine will read, “Pay X amount.”  Please insert the “parking chaser” ticket. This will act as your form of payment. No matter what amount the machine reads, your parking chaser will cover it!

WHAT IS THE GOAL/OBJECTIVE OF THIS EVENT? AWARE for All is an educational program free and open to the public for the purpose of providing information to help people make informed decisions about clinical research participation. Since 2003, AWARE for All Clinical Research Education Day has been offered over 50 times in cities across the US, and we are enthusiastic to bring this important program to the Miami Community. CISCRP has teamed with research and community partners to provide quality speakers and information on clinical research, and nearly 100% of the 15,000+ attendees have rated the program as excellent and highly informative. The program will feature free health checks, an Information Alley/Exhibit Area, meaningful presentations from prominent Miami-based medical professionals and community patients, as well as free food and giveaways. Founded in 2003, The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) is a nonprofit organization founded for the purpose of educating the public, patients, the media, and policy makers in order to promote greater understanding and awareness of the clinical research process. CISCRP is not involved in recruiting patients for clinical trials, nor is it involved in conducting clinical trials. Our staff and board of advisors consist of individuals with highly diverse backgrounds: including government, clinical research, healthcare, and advocacy communities. CISCRP is funded by generous donations from a wide variety of sources, including individuals, research institutions, corporations and foundations.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS (to the Miami Tower Parking Garage (Municipal Garage), adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Miami) From the North Take I-95 South and follow the “Downtown” sign, stay to the left. Take Exit 2C- ; stay to your left and proceed to the light. Turn right and make the 1st immediate left onto SE 3rd Street. This street will automatically become SE 4th Street. Go under the overpass. FOR FREE PARKING: After you go under the overpass, the first left will be the Municipal Garage-Self-Parking. Follow the Self-parking garage signs. From the South Head North on US 1 until you reach I -95 North. Continue onto I-95 North to Exit 2A Biscayne Boulevard. Stay to your right and follow the SE 1st Avenue sign. You will be facing the Riverpark Hotel. Turn left at the light and proceed on SE 3rd Street. This street will automatically become SE 4th Street. Go under the overpass. FOR FREE PARKING: After you go under the overpass, the first left will be the Municipal Garage- Self -Parking. Follow the Self-parking garage signs. From the West/ Miami International Airport Take 836 East, go through tolls and stay to right-hand side. Take I-95 South Exit - Downtown. Once on I-95, stay in left-hand lane and take Exit 2A/Biscayne Boulevard. Stay in right-hand lane at the end of the ramp. The Hyatt Regency Miami hotel will be on your immediate right-hand side. In the parking garage take the elevator down to the “G” level. Follow the hallway to the right to the glass tunnel that connects the Hyatt and the Municipal garage. Take the escalator or elevator up and follow the hallway. You will enter into the hotel lobby next to the Gift and Business Center.

METRORAIL/METROMOVER The Metrorail and Metro Mover are Miami’s easiest way to beat the traffic in and around the city center. Take any line on the Metrorail and transfer at Government Center to the Metro Mover (any line), which will take you directly to the Knight Center. The Metro Mover drops off at Miami Tower Parking Garage, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Miami. Follow the special note in the directions section above for how to access the connecting bridge into the hotel.
