This segment will be straight after normal speeches at 6.15pm Club Questionnaire Our Annual Club membership questionnaire has been sent by email to all members recently. As this Lupin Snooper edition goes to print we have had 48 responses, and of those only 6 are from current players! I encourage all members to take the time to fill our the survey so the Management Committee can use the feedback to make the Club better for all members. CONGRATULATIONS The Club extends it’s congratulations to Ryan Crotty on his selection in the initial All Black squad for this season On the back of the recent announcement that Ryan has re-signed for the Crusaders for next season, it was great to see Ryan’s name read out last weekend. Media speculation suggests Ryan will possibly start in the first test next week against Samoa so we look forward to seeing Ryan back in black if that is true. We wish Ryan all the best in this all important year for All Black rugby. ****************************************************************************************** Congratulation goes to Billy Harmon and Tulolo Tulolo who have been named in the initial Canterbury ITM Cup squad this season. Senior Division Three 2015 It’s been a rather turbulent year for the Div 3 side to date. Currently running a record of 5 Wins, 3 Losses and 3 Draws which in our highly contestable section has the team sitting 5 th out of 9 sides with our remaining four games to be played against the sides sitting above them on the ladder. As ever Div 3 stalwart Shayne Lewis Leads the side with his trademark flare, new additions to the forward pack such as Ruben Burke and Karaitiana Mita have made our line out & rolling maul fierce attacking weapons. Center Lee Foreman’s return from a BBQ holiday in South Africa, along with ½ back Michael Keith coming out of retirement has resulted in our backline showing great promise as we approach the business end of the season. All signs point to a thrilling conclusion to a season and hopefully some silverware for this great bunch of Lad's The coaches and management staff would like to thank the loyal supporters that follows us around Canterbury and also the Div 2 side for assisting us with players at times when our ranks have faltered. The managing director of Gluy- as Motoring Group, Peter Gluyas, said 47 per cent of local motorists own utes and they’ll be penalised in two years’ time because their vehicles won’t meet emission standards. • FORCE V HIGHLANDERS
Trans-Tasman Round 2 FORCE v HIGHLANDERS Friday 21 May HBF Park I 5:45pm DEAR PLAYERS, MEMBERS AND FANS, I welcome the Sea of Blue, our loyal Members and fans, back for the second week in a row here at HBF Park for the final home match of the Trans-Tasman regular season. Tonight, we are up against former Super Rugby champions, the Highlanders. Firstly, thank you for the passionate support you gave the team in our last home game against the Chiefs. We heard you in full voice, lifting the team in the last 20 minutes or when the referee needed assistance. You created an amazing atmosphere – it was a game of centimetres and the last kick of the game clearly illustrated that. You, the Sea of Blue, are creating a fortress here for the Western Force! Tonight’s match against the Highlanders is another crucial clash with bragging rights on the line, especially for me as I was born and bred in Dunedin, New Zealand. We are here to win tonight as we are chasing our first victory in Super Rugby Trans-Tasman. We welcome Highlanders CEO Roger Clark, the owners of the team as well as the coaching staff and their players to HBF Park. I am always amazed by the unique atmosphere at our home games, from the pre-match entertainment to our Fan Zone at Gate 1. Last week was brilliant, thank you Rebecca Roe and the team. As I said before, compared to what is offered across other clubs, the Force are market leaders, and we want to be ‘The Leading Force’ in every avenue of your matchday experience.
