FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 FOX SPORTS’ UFC 231 COVERAGE FEATURES UFC CHAMPION TYRON WOODLEY AND FORMER CHAMP RASHAD EVANS WORKING AS ANALYSTS WITH HOST BRENDAN FITZGERALD Paul Felder, Joe Rogan and Jon Anik Call UFC 231 Saturday LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports announces UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans serve as analysts alongside host Brendan Fitzgerald in FOX Sports’ Los Angeles studio for this weekend’s coverage of UFC 231: HOLLOWAY VS. ORTEGA on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8. UFC lightweight contender Paul Felder joins blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik and veteran MMA analyst Joe Rogan to call UFC 231 live in Toronto, while Megan Olivi adds reports and interviews fighters onsite. On FOX Deportes, former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, Victor Davila and Mario Delgado have the call in Spanish. UFC returns to Toronto on Dec. 8 with a championship doubleheader guaranteed to produce fireworks. In the main event, undisputed featherweight champion Max Holloway (19-3) attempts to follow up a pair of victories over Brazilian superstar Jose Aldo with another signature win, as he defends his title against unbeaten phenom Brian Ortega (14-0, 1NC). Ortega earned his shot at the crown with finishes of Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson. Plus, a new UFC women’s flyweight champion will be crowned when Valentina Shevchenko (15-3) takes on former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk (15-2) for the vacant title. FS1’s UFC programming starts on Friday, Dec. 7 with the UFC 231 WEIGH-IN SHOW at 6:00 PM ET live on FS1 and the FOX Sports app, with Fitzgerald, Woodley and Evans previewing the fights as fighters tip the scales, while Olivi interviews fighters. On Saturday, Dec. 8, coverage kicks off at 6:30 PM ET with the FS1 UFC 231 PREFIGHT SHOW, as the same crew previews the evening’s fights. The two-hour FS1 UFC 231 PRELIMS begin at 8:00 PM ET on FS1, FOX Deportes and the FOX Sports app, with four exciting bouts. No. 3-ranked strawweight Claudia Gadelha (16-3) battles No. 11 Nina Ansaroff (9-5), while Olivier Aubin-Mercier (12-3) and Gilbert Burns (14-3) square off at 155 pounds. No. 3 flyweight Katlyn Chookagian (11-1) faces No. 9 Jessica Eye (13-6, 1NC). Plus, No. 14 Elias Theodorou (15-2) and Eryk Anders (11-1) open the prelims with a thrilling middleweight bout.
