Members are reminded that our security technology is passive in nature and can only be helpful if we take time to observe and report as many details as possible to staff. If we see any suspicious or illegal activity we should be able to report detailed descriptions of the people involved, accurate information on dates and times of the events, as well as descriptions of any vehicles involved including color, make, model, and license number. With that type of information staff can scan monitored recordings and do a better job of providing law enforcement with actionable information. You should expect Security Checks at our front gates, boat ramps and park facilities. KCPOA members are reminded that they should have num- bered decals (available at the office, free IT Teamwork—Philip Crocker, Phil Resch, Allan Rogers and Bill of charge) on all their vehicles. If you see Cottrell trouble-shoot issues with the presentation equipment anyone using our facilities whose vehicle does not have a KCPOA sticker you prior to the King’s Country Property Owners Annual Meeting.

should write down the license number and report it to the office. If the vehicle is not registered to a member it is liable to be towed away at the owner’s expense. Everyone is reminded that intruders may not be arriving just by our roads. We should all be familiar with the watercraft that belong to our nearby neighbors. If a suspicious boat pulls up at your neighbor’s dock take note of their activities. If you ever gave your personal gate code to a contractor you should go by the office and get a new one for your family. Security checks have revealed that contractors and unauthorized persons regularly use private codes obtained for work that was completed months or even years ago to gain access now. You should take the time to provide a temporary gate code for any contractor work or visitors. If you see anyone without a King’s Country sticker hanging around the entry to tailgate in for access you should take note of their vehicle license number and report it to the office. Staff has been monitoring the use of gate codes and has been deleting any being used that had originally been assigned to folks who are no longer Susan Jones, New Property Manager members. The fifth annual interior lakes fishing tournament was a lot of fun even though turnout was light, due to the threat of rain for the weekend. We had 10 fishermen and women who completed catch information forms and a total of 43 fish were caught. As in past years, additional fishers participated, but they did not hand in a form. All who participated were up for the competitive challenge and had a great time. Folks who were recognized for their catches included the following:

The fish fry was well attended by roughly 150 King’s Country neighbors and friends. The fried fish was great and the side dishes and desserts brought by guests were varied and delicious. A big thank you to those who brought the goodies. A special thanks also to First National Bank of Mount Vernon which sponsored the food, and to Martha Oxford who secured the sponsorship. The hard work, kindness, and community spirit of the many volunteers who contributed to the events’ success are sincerely appreciated. Philip Crocker

The King’s Country Annual Golf Cart parade will be held Saturday, July 4. The parade will form up at Jim Stewart Park at 9 AM, kick off at 9:30 AM then wind its way through King’s Country to the Club House. If you’ve never experienced the parade you are in for a treat. It has grown each year, beginning with just a couple of golf carts to over thirty participants last year. We aren’t limited to golf carts. ATVs, bicycles and go-carts also join in—as long as you can ride safely and keep up. Come join the fun! Please remember that the Franklin Water District regulations require all operators of motorized vehicles to have a valid drivers license. Fill the boot—Saturday, July 4th, King’s Country is sponsoring our Annual “Fill The Boot” Drive benefiting our South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department. Last year King’s Country residents and visitors contributed over $1,600! Let’s see if we can top that this year! Look for the Volunteers with a Boot at the 4-Way Stop by the Clubhouse from 8am - Noon. If your donation is by check, please make it payable to SFVFD. The Annual Lake Cypress Springs Fireworks will be staged from the landing at Mary King Park at 9:30pm, Saturday July 4th and will be visible from open areas along the shoreline all over the lake. The event is sponsored through donations from private businesses and individuals. Any funds collected over the cost of the show are donated to the South Franklin County Fire Department. If your family enjoys this free event, please consider sending a donation to: Sarah Bolts, 6131 Boca Raton Dr., , TX 75230. Please be considerate and use extra care with personal fireworks. A Franklin County Deputy will be patrolling throughout King’s Country for added security July 3rd through 5th. Volume 2015, Issue 3— Page 5 King’s Country Springtime

From Your Maintenance Department

Rain, Rain, Go Away Hasn't this recent rain been a blessing? Or maybe too much of a good thing? Actually, this rain has put some of our focus on the ditches here in Kings Country. You may have noticed we have been working on the ditches over the past month, cleaning them out to solve some drainage problems. Once again we are asking for your help. We’ve noticed some landscapers and homeowners blowing leaves into nearby ditches, even throwing limbs and other debris into ditches. The leaves, limbs, and everything else thrown into ditches then clog culverts. Once a culvert is clogged the water backs up, breeding mosquitoes, then overflows — usually over the road, across someone's yard or driveway, even under someone's house. This creates a big problem. It causes damage to our roads, driveways—maybe even to your house. Remember, clogged culverts may cost your neighbor (or all of us) a lot of money. Please keep ditches on your property clear. If you see a anyone put- ting debris in our drainage ditches, please let us know. You can call our new property manager (Susan Jones), Scott, or Charles. Thank you and have another wonderful day in King’s Country. Your Maintenance Department Scott and Charles
