The Happy Together Tour Comes to Four Winds New Buffalo's Silver Creek FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE HAPPY TOGETHER TOUR COMES TO FOUR WINDS NEW BUFFALO’S SILVER CREEK EVENT CENTER ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 6 NEW BUFFALO, Mich. – March 2, 2020 – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi’s Four Winds® Casinos are pleased to announce that the Happy Together Tour will stop at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek® Event Center on Friday, August 14, at 9 p.m. The tour is once again headlined by The Turtles, who also act as musical hosts for the evening. Ticket prices for the show range from $60 to $85, plus applicable fees, and can be purchased online at www.fourwindscasino.com beginning on Friday, March 6 at 11 a.m. Eastern. Hotel rooms are available on the night of the concert and can be purchased with event tickets. 2020 will mark the eleventh year of the highly-successful, hit-filled Happy Together Tour. The touring sensation, which has criss-crossed the nation delighting audiences for a decade, returns with a show full of chart-topping hits from the 1960s and 1970s that include 59 Billboard Top 40 songs. In addition to The Turtles, audiences can expect music from Chuck Negron, from Three Dog Night; The Association; Mark Lindsay, from Paul Revere & The Raiders; The Vogues; and The Cowsills. The Turtles are best known for their harmony-heavy California pop sound. With hits such as “Elenore,” “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “You Showed Me,” and the title of the tour, “Happy Together,” the band ruled the airwaves in the late 1960s. Ron Dante joins the line-up to delight with his own mega-hit, “Sugar Sugar.” Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, returns to the tour for 2020 bringing with him his outstanding lead vocals on such global hits as “Joy To The World,” “One,” “Mama Told Me Not To Come,” “Black & White,” “Shambala,” “An Old Fashioned Love Song,” Easy To Be Hard,” “Eli’s Coming” and more. Three Dog Night scored an impressive 21 Top 40 singles and twelve consecutive gold albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Also returning to the tour for 2020 is The Association, who enjoyed massive radio success in the ‘60s with such number one hits as “Cherish,” “Windy,” “Never My Love,” and “Along Comes Mary.” This iconic vocal group was a staple on AM radio in the 1960s. Joining Happy Together for 2020 will be Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders. Musicians expanded their sonic palette by experimenting with the sounds of sitar, and through sound-modifying electronic ef- fects such as the wah-wah pedal, fuzz tone, and the Echoplex tape-de- lay unit, as well as a variety of new electronic keyboard instruments and synthesizers. The sound of every musical instrument contributed toward the overall sound of a performance or recording, and bands were begin- ning to expand beyond the core of drums, bass, and a couple guitars.

    MARK LINDSAY BIO The former lead singer and co- founder of Paul Revere & the Raiders, Mark Lindsay was born in Oregon but raised in Idaho, where he began his career as the rockabilly singer in Freddy Chapman's Idaho Playboys. His bandmates were the guitar playing brothers Dick and "Mooney" White. The White Brothers had another gig playing rock and roll in the Red Hughes Band. Red later hired Paul Revere Dick on piano to join them. One night at the IOOF Hall in Caldwell, Idaho, Mark Lindsay showed up to listen, but he soon ripped off his glasses and made his way blindly to the stage, then impulsively asked if he could sing a song. He did, relished the crowd response for a few moments, and then – overcome with shyness – hastily left the hall. The next morning, Mark was back at his job at McClure's Bakery. Covered in flour and with his coke-bottle glasses back on, he was soon visited by Revere, who had come in to pick up buns for his hamburger stand. While Mark wrapped the order, Revere started talking about an incident that had happened at the dance that he played the night before. “It was the weirdest thing!” said Revere. “In the middle of the show, this skinny kid with a crazy look in his eye came up to the stage and asked to sing a song. So we let him.” Mark, knowing full well who the stranger was, casually asked,“How was he?” “Not bad,” Revere admitted. “It was ME!” replied Mark.

    PAUL REVERE & THE RAIDERS: POP/GARAGE BAND and “LOUIE LOUIE” By Alan L. Chrisman Paul Revere, leader and keyboardist for American 60’s and 70’s band, Paul Revere & The Raiders just passed away recently. They had several big hits in the 60’s and the 70’s, such as “Kicks”, “Hungry”, “Just Like Me” “Him or Me-What’s it Gonna Be?” and “Indian Reservation”. They were known for their American Revolution costumes and pop songs, but would later be considered a garage band by the punk era. Their image and sound was created an American reaction to The Beatles and The British Invasion in the mid-60’s and they wrote and played some very catchy and popular hits. Paul Revere (his real middle name) founded the band, when he met lead vocalist, Mark Lindsay, in 1958, who was delivering buns to Revere’s restaurant in Idaho. Revere was drafted into the military, but as a conscientious objector, worked in a mental institution for a year and a half. They formed a band called The Downbeats and had a few regional hits and toured, at one point, with Leon Russell on piano. They got signed to Columbia Records because they had an early hit with the later garage band classic, “Louie Louie” in ’63. The song,”Louie Louie” has its own fascinating history: Originally written by Richard Berry in 1955, it was a minor R&B hit for him. Berry was the uncredited lead vocal on “Riot in Cell Block #9” by The Robbins who later turned into The Coasters.
