The government’s power to appoint Council members was enshrined in the Constitution of the FAS. In late 2015, FIFA, world football governing body requested the FAS to align its Constitution with FIFA’s requirements, and to allow for the fraternity to pick its own leadership. The review process to align our Constitution with FIFA Statutes was a complex and thorough one which lasted over a year.
