XIth Congress

European Association of Agricultural Economists

The Future of Rural Europe

in the

Global Agri-Food System

PROGRAMME

(as of August 2nd, 2005)

Copenhagen, Denmark, 23-27 August 2005

WELCOME

On behalf of the Organising Committee, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to this XIth Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists. We have developed a programme which we trust will be interesting for you, from a professional as well as from a social and cultural point of view.

The heart of the Congress is the scientific papers and their individual presentation. A Programme Committee appointed by EAAE has assumed responsible for preparing the scientific programme. I know that the Programme Committee has worked hard to develop the scientific programme, which includes invited papers, contributed papers, poster papers and papers presented in organised sessions.

In a time, when almost any kind of communication can be arranged by the use of IT technology, it has become even more important for researchers to meet face to face to exchange professional ideas and newly gathered knowledge. This personal meeting involves opportunities that cannot be accomplished through the Internet.

The Organising Committee hopes that Copenhagen will be the perfect framework for this current meeting of the EAAE Congress participants. We will do our best to allow you to enjoy our hospitality and the social activities surrounding the Congress.

Svend Rasmussen Chairman of the Organising Committee
