BY CATHY ASPLIN

People of various ages, occupations and religions gathered for the Day of Blessing in Te Awamutu. This event organised by the Combined Churches of Te Awamutu is into its fourth year and was held for the second time at Te Awamutu Sports. The day began with a shared lunch and refreshments. Australian guest speakers Greg and Julie Bailey, from Christian International Ministries, were back to share more about the blessings, and how other places have been affected by this world-wide event. Mrs Bailey said by TC160216CA01 blessing the good work of ST Andrew’s Presbyterian Church member Mary Morriss serves up food to its citizens, Te Awamutu (from left) Mike Hewett, Les Craig and Olive Hewett-Bryant. would prosper spiritually and in tangible ways, based on the outcomes in other places. They were joined by local church leaders, bless- ing and expressing their gratitude to people who make major contributions to life in the community. Guests went up in groups ranging from edu- cation, government and businesses to sportspeople, artists, musicians and volunteers.
