Abstract: This study was performed in order to determine the Braconidae fauna of meadows and forest areas around Gala Lake National Park. Samples were collected from June to October 2011 in selected pasture, forest, and rice agricultural areas. As a result of the study, a total of 38 taxa species belonging to 12 genera within 5 subfamilies were identified. Among the species identified, four species [Eubazus (Brachistes) gigas, Triaspis thoracica, Pseudovipio deserti, Opius (Opius) trucantulus] were recorded for the first time in Turkey and four species [Bracon (Bracon) kozak, Pseudovipio inscriptor, Opius (Opius) quasipulvis, Aleiodes (Neorhogas) ductor] were recorded for the first time in the Thrace region.

Parasitic wasps are natural enemies of hosts of appropriate pore size between July 2011 and October in natural ecosystems and can be used as biological control 2011 (Figure; Table 1). The collected braconids were agents against pests in agroecosystems. At least half placed into plastic tubes containing 70% ethyl alcohol. The of all have a parasitic lifestyle, and up to 20% of all diagnostic keys of Tobias (1986) were used for diagnosis are parasitoid wasps (Bonet, 2009). of the samples. For the general distribution of examined Braconidae (Hymenoptera: ) is the species, references from the literature on Palearctic fauna second largest family of Hymenoptera, with 19,801 valid were used (Yu et al., 2012).
