This iteration centers on Aaron Foley, the son of Murphy's Axel Foley, who was a blue collar Detroit cop who lands in Beverly Hills and experiences a wide range of culture shocks. His son is also a cop and struggles to distinguish himself from his dad. POSITIONING STATEMENT An adaptation of the 1984 movie, BHC is a fast-talking, action-filled series ushering in Axel Foley’s son, Aaron as the next anti- authoritative, ends justify the means crime solver. Trading in blue collar Detroit, for the rich and famous, Aaron is a fish-out-of-water detective busting crime in Beverly Hills. CREATIVE CUES • Bright and exciting with Beverly Hills figuring prominently • Iconic locations – Rodeo Drive/Beverly Hills logo • Glitz, opulence and all the things stereotypical about Beverly Hills while acknowledging the darker crime element • Fish out of water; other side of the tracks • Grittiness of Detroit vs. the opulence of Beverly Hills (dark/light contrast) • Axel Foley WHAT TO SAY • Money, power, fame, and celebrity meet crime and violence in the Southland to illustrate recognizable and thrilling ride • High stakes action with organic (almost improvisational) humor • Builds upon a well-established, highly-successful theatrical franchise WHAT NOT TO SAY • Should not be described as an action comedy as this gives a connotation of silliness (this show is not The Other Guys) INTERNATIONAL POSITIONING • Successful franchise title lends strong talent (Eddie Murphy) and theme (action drama with hints of comedy) recognition • Action-filled dramas perform well for international buyers • Series will showcase Los Angeles/Beverly Hills, which resonates with international audience as a major city with recognizable characteristics (wealth, glamour, celebrity, etc. but also hints of danger including crime and gangs) • Behind the scenes talent of Shawn Ryan lends credibility to the series and genre CONSUMER & TRADE PRESS POSITIONING An adaptation of the 1984 movie starring Eddie Murphy, BHC is a fast-talking, action-filled comedy ushering in Axel Foley’s son, Aaron (played by Brandon T.
