Estimates and Financial Operations Committee

To: Ben Killey Subject: RE: Department of Communities' response to Standing Committee supplementary questions on Local Projects Local Jobs hearing

Good afternoon

Thank you for the additional time for our response. I apologise for the delay with these questions and our transcript corrections.

I am sending you copies of our responses to questions 1, 3‐7 to confirm the correct versions. Please see the attached.

Our response to supplementary question 2 will follow shortly.

In addition, Communities has one suggestion for the uncorrected hearing transcript.

Page 6: Brad Jolly’s comment in relation to regarding underspends, where it was under $10,000 in value and over $10,000 in value:

If it was under $10,000 in value that the process would be for that money to be invoiced to the grant recipient and then returned to the department.

Communities suggests that this text be amended to read:

According to Grants policy and Procedures 2016, unexpended grant funds to a maximum of 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, of the initial grant may be retained by the organisation, on the provisional approval of the delegated authority.

I will email you again shortly with our response to question 2.

Regards Ben
