For your convenience, we begin this guide with a map of Los Angeles County that is comprised of eight service planning areas known as SPAs. Many sections have been arranged according to SPAs to assist you with finding resources; however, some services are available in more than one SPA. Los Angeles County is broken up geographically into eight Service Planning Areas (SPAs) which cover 4,300 square miles. SPAs are used to divide LA County’s Social Service departments into more manageable blocks.
