Amah Rock Located within the Lion Rock Country Park, the Amah Rock is approximately 15 meters in height, and its shape looks like a woman carrying a baby on her back. According to a legend, the faithful wife of a fisherman climbed the hills every day, carrying her son, longing for the return of her husband, not knowing he had been drowned at sea. In reward for her faithfulness she was turned into a rock by the ! Goddess of the Sea so that her spirit could unite with that of her husband.The rock is a popular tourist destination and a famous scenic spot overlooking the whole of District. ! Heritage Museum The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is one of the most prominent museum in Hong Kong with comprehensive exhibitions on history, art and culture. Its architectural structure patterned after the traditional si he yuan; a compound of harmoniously blended houses built around a central courtyard. The Museum offers a diverse range of ! dynamic and interactive exhibitions and programmes to engage visitors in enjoyable and educational experiences as they appreciate the valuable artefacts on display. Che Kung Temple This temple located in the area of Sha Tin honours Che Kung, a military commander of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279) whose advantageous power for suppressing uprisings and plagues made him a household name. The original temple was built here around 300 years ago in a desperate move to stop an epidemic that was ! spreading across the Sha Tin area. According to legend, the epidemic began to subside on the day construction was completed. Visitors may try their luck with the fortune tellers at the temple!

The Thousand Buddhas Monastery The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery (Man Fat Tsz), located Po Fook Hill at Pai Tau Village is one of Hong Kong’s most famous Buddhist temples and popular tourist attractions. The temple was founded in 1949 by the Reverend Yuet Kai and completed in 1957. It has five temples, four pavilions, one verandah and a pagoda and is reached by a steep concrete path with 431 steps. There are actually 1,2800 Buddha statutes in the monastery! Visit ! them all!
