BELLEVUE, Wash. & EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 2002--

Teoma search is the latest high-quality addition to InfoSpace meta-search and its millions of users

InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP), a provider of wireless and Internet software and application services, and Ask Jeeves Web Properties, a division of Ask Jeeves®, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASKJ), today announced an agreement to add Teoma's (www.teoma.com) search results to InfoSpace meta-search.

Teoma(SM), which powers Ask Jeeves (Ask.com®) and Teoma.com, is owned and operated by Ask Jeeves, Inc.

"The addition of Teoma, which in a short period of time has garnered a reputation as a strong contender in the ever-evolving world of search, to our meta-search capabilities is further evidence of our efforts to bring together the best search engines on the Web," said York Baur, InfoSpace executive vice president, wireline and broadband. "Not only am I thrilled with the addition of Teoma to InfoSpace meta-search, but our millions of users should be as well."

Teoma is a search technology that goes beyond traditional search techniques to apply a new measure of relevance to deliver authoritative results to consumers. Teoma's authoritative methodology delivers greater relevancy by organizing the Web into naturally occurring subject-specific communities and then identifying authorities within those communities to associate a level of expertise or knowledge with a search result.

Teoma results are now found within InfoSpace meta-search at MetaCrawler (www..com) and is planned for launch at (www.excite.com), (www.dogpile.com) and WebCrawler (www.webcrawler.com), among other search distribution relationships. InfoSpace's meta-search technology allows users to search multiple search engines at once, returning the most comprehensive and relevant results fast. The Company's next generation meta-search technology highlights the strengths of many of the Web's major search properties, such as Teoma, and is designed to identify the intent of each user's search.

"Teoma approaches Internet search differently than any other search technology," said Steve Berkowitz, president of Ask Jeeves Web Properties. "Our highly advanced technology should be a strong addition for the millions of searchers utilizing InfoSpace's meta-search capabilities looking for comprehensive and relevant results fast."
