Range Announces New Appalachian Office Facility

PITTSBURGH, Sep 27, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

RANGE RESOURCES CORPORATION (NYSE:RRC) today announced that it has reached an agreement with Horizon Properties Group for the development and leasing of its new Appalachian office facility at II in Canonsburg, Pa., approximately 20 miles south of . Horizon President Rod Piatt indicated that construction at the site is set to begin immediately, with a targeted completion date of November 2011.

The initial phase of the project calls for the construction of a five-story, 180,000 square foot, Class A office building on a 13-acre site in the Southpointe business park. Horizon has already obtained the required Washington County and Cecil Township approvals. The second phase of the project is planned for building expansion up to an additional 100,000 square feet.

"The construction of our new regional headquarters facility signals Range's commitment to responsibly grow our Marcellus operations. Our plan calls for a state-of-the-art "green" facility, designed to accommodate what is anticipated to be dramatic growth in our office staff, while incorporating the latest in energy-efficient technologies to help us minimize our environmental impact. Over the next several years, we plan to more than double the number of employees in our regional office from approximately 225 currently to around 500. The majority of these new jobs will go to local residents, demonstrating the positive impact that Range is having on the community," said Ray Walker, Range Resources Senior Vice President - Shale.

Design Stream Architectural Studio of Pittsburgh designed the five story building, which will have an average floor size of 35,000 square feet and will include a 225-seat auditorium, a café and an outdoor event plaza. Building plans were developed with strong environmental awareness and call for numerous energy-efficient features, including reflective roof material, Low "E" light reflective glass, shade fins, energy management systems and responsible recycling of waste materials. Range has authorized Horizon to develop the project for LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.

PJ Dick Corporation, the project's construction manager, plans to hire local contractors and suppliers, of which about 99% are anticipated to be union workers. PJ Dick has established a leading position in the construction industry and has consistently ranked among the nation's Top 100 General Contractors and Construction Managers by The Engineering News Record's.
