John T. Fox, MBA President & CEO

John Fox is president and CEO of Beaumont Health, ’s largest health care system based on inpatient admissions and net patient revenue.

Fox came to Beaumont in 2015 from Emory Healthcare, where he served for 16 years as president and chief executive officer for the $2.3 billion system. While he was at Emory, the system became the only health care organization with two ranked in the Vizient (formerly University HealthSystem Consortium) top 10 list for Quality Leadership and the only Georgia system with two Magnet-designated hospitals.

Prior to joining Emory Healthcare, Fox was executive vice president of Clarian Health (now called IU Health), a large health system/academic medical center in Indianapolis. Before that, he was vice president and CFO at The Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He began his career as an MBA/CPA at Coopers and Lybrand.

Fox serves on the boards of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, the Regional Chamber, the HealthCare Institute and on the Vizient Board of Managers. His current and past memberships include: the Council on Teaching Hospitals, the Center for Corporate Innovation, the American Health Plans Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Health Care Systems Governing Council of the American Hospital Association, MedShare Board, the United Healthcare Executive Advisory Committee, the Atlanta Committee for Progress and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He is a former chair of the Georgia Hospital Association and board member of Health Spring and Encompass Home Health.

Fox was recognized as one of 12 “Michigan Change Makers” by Crain’s Detroit Business in June 2017.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington University, St. Louis, and has a master’s degree in business administration.
