SERIES RECORD LSU leads the series with Arkansas, 47‐22, including a series victory this season in Fayetteville. Arkansas won Game 1 of the series, 11‐4, before the Tigers posted consecutive victories over the Razorbacks by scores of 5‐0 and 4‐3.

COACHES • LSU coach is in his third season at LSU, and he has a 130‐61‐2 record at the helm of the Tiger program. Mainieri has a career mark of 994‐553‐6 in 27 seasons as a collegiate head coach. Mainieri is in the College World Series for the third time in his career – he directed Notre Dame to the CWS in 2002 and he guided LSU to Omaha last season. Mainieri has a 3‐4 career mark in College World Series games (1‐2 at Notre Dame; 2‐2 at LSU). He has a 32‐22 career record in NCAA Tournament games (20‐19 at Notre Dame; 12‐3 at LSU).

• Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn is in his seventh season at Arkansas, where he has a 275‐ 16 mark. He has a 860‐396 career record in 21 seasons as a collegiate head coach. He is making his fourth head coaching appearance in Omaha – he led Nebraska to the CWS in 2001 and 2002; and he directed Arkansas to the CWS in 2004. Van Horn has a 1‐6 career mark in CWS contests.

NOTEWORTHY • LSU, the NCAA Tournament No. 3 national seed, enters Monday’s game riding an 11‐ game win streak. The Tigers opened the CWS with a 9‐5 victory over Virginia Saturday. The win marked the Tigers’ first CWS‐opening victory since 2000.

• LSU has a 118‐44 (.728) all‐time record in the NCAA Tournament and owns the highest winning percentage in tournament history. The Tigers are making their 15th College World Series appearance and their second in a row – LSU is 31‐19 (.620) at the CWS with five national titles (1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000).

• LSU starting Louis Coleman, a first‐team all‐American from Schlater, Miss., fired a complete‐game shutout against Arkansas on May 2 at Fayetteville. Coleman fired nine scoreless innings in the contest, limiting Arkansas to two hits with one walk and six .

• Louis Coleman has a 28‐12 career mark in four seasons at LSU – he is ninth on the all‐ time LSU wins list. He can move into a tie for eighth place with Ben McDonald (29 wins, 1987‐89) with one more victory this season.

• Junior outfielder Jared Mitchell is No. 2 on the all‐time LSU career steals list with 70. He trails only Rob Hartwig, who had 73 steals from 1986‐87). Mitchell’s 36 steals this season marks the second‐highest single season total in LSU history – Hartwig has the single‐season mark with 42 in 1987.

• LSU DH/OF is No. 8 on the all‐time LSU home run list with 42 career dingers. He is tied for sixth with Clay Harris (2002‐05) on the career RBI list with 185.

LSU VS. THE SEC IN THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES LSU is facing Arkansas for the second time in the College World Series; however, the first meeting came in 1987 when the Razorbacks were members of the Southwest Conference. LSU posted a 5‐2 win in that ’87 CWS contest. The Tigers are 6‐2 all‐time when facing an SEC team in Omaha. LSU is 4‐0 against Florida, 1‐0 versus Alabama, 1‐0 versus Mississippi State and 0‐2 against South Carolina.
