8 ANZIIF Assessment

Skills Units are either 5 weeks or 7 weeks from start to finish. They are made up of 4 or 6 weeks of learning content with the final week dedicated to completing both Exams and Interactive Scenarios. To assist in embedding this knowledge ANZIIF uses multiple choice questions, activities and application questions throughout the Skills Units before the assessments, allowing the students to practice what they are learning and prepare them for the assessments.

Interactive Scenarios

Case-based interactive scenarios challenge students to apply the knowledge they have gained during the course to real-world scenarios that reflect situations that are commonly experienced by insurance professionals. To pass the scenario, students need to be able to successfully navigate a customer situation to the end by selecting the best options from a list of possible solutions.

Exam

The exam will run for approximately 90 minutes for five-week ANZIIF Skills Units, and approximately 120 minutes for seven-week units, and consists of two parts. • Exam A assesses the learners knowledge with simple multiple choice questions, with a single answer required. This Exam requires a mark of 50% in a single attempt in order to pass. • Exam B assesses the learners ability to critically apply their knowledge and skills to customer scenarios using a range of techniques such as complex multiple choice, with multiple answers required, and fill in the blank or matching questions. This Exam requires a mark of 100% after three attempts in order to pass. All exams are ‘open resource’ so students can refer to the online unit, any hard copy notes and search the internet. View all exam dates in the Skills Units academic calendars.

Assessment Results

Assessment results are normally available 2 days after the exam date. Successful students will be posted an official Statement of Attainment two weeks after the study period ends. This statement will include: • List of competencies. The competencies achieved to assist students with credit into and recognition for further study • Exam and overall skills unit result Unsuccessful students can be re-enrolled into the next study period at a discounted fee.

“I found the knowledge tests at the end of each week really useful as it allows you to review notes and content for each week as opposed to the whole course.”
