Concert at Church of St Simon and Jude, Prague, Czech Republic

The Church of St Simon and Jude, regularly holds concerts - jazz, classical, quartets and orchestras – as well at the Prague Easter Festival. Built in the 1500s as a chapel for the hospital, this beautiful edifice has undergone more than one facelift to such degree that it became a competitor and opposer of the main cathedral of Prague - St. Vitus. The unique Andreas Wambetsser pipe organ has been used by both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn. The last reconstruction was done by the City of Prague between 1989 -1993. In 1989 the church was given back to the Order of the Merciful Brethren of John of God. It is maintained by and is home to the Prague Symphony Orchestra.

The Italian Cultural Institute building, located in the eighth district of Budapest, was once the seat of the Hungarian Parliament, from 1865 to 1092. It was designed by Miklós Ybl, one of the greatest Hungarian architects who designed among other things, the Opera, Saint Stephen’s Basilica and the University of Economy, and is a key monument in the history of Hungarian politics.

In 1902, the Parliament moved from the building and it became a venue for fairs and exhibitions. In 1942 the Italian government came into possession of the building. After extensive restoration work the headquarters of the Italian Institute of Culture for Hungary was inaugurated in 1943, in the presence of Italian and Hungarian dignitaries.

Exchange concert with SAX12 at MuTh Concert Hall, Vienna, Austria

In their classical studies at the Vienna Music University, saxophone students attend different courses and in particular, perform in the saxophone ensembles and orchestra.

The ensemble SAX12 is comprised of 12 musicians who play the whole range of instruments in the saxophone family, from the sopranino to the bass saxophone. The colorful and expressive potential of the different saxophones reminds one of the bright expressiveness of a symphonic orchestra. The MuTh Concert Hall is Vienna‘s new venue for music and theatre – the Vienna Boys’ Choir Concert Hall in the opened in December 2012. It’s an exciting new venue in the heart of Vienna, a place with a focus on young people where music and theatre meet. The building is a unique ensemble of existing structures (the gatehouse and wall) and modern architecture.
