Even if you have, rational matter in your mind may have created an element of doubt at some point of time. Was it the Power of Hanuman Chalisa? Or was it just a coincidence? Or was it the conditioned thinking shaped by the religious stories we learnt from our parents or grandparents during childhood? This book is about clearing such doubts from your mind with reasoning and logic. And why did I choose marketing as a medium? There are two reasons. The first reason is that irrespective of whether you are into any Business, Profession or Job, basic knowledge of marketing is essential. It will be of great help to you in this era of extreme competition. Everyone knows the power of Marketing. Just imagine the effectiveness of marketing when it gets some divine Power Boosters from the most powerful and sacred Hanuman Chalisa. The second reason is that I am already a proven entity in marketing. I am into Strategic Marketing Consultancy since 1999 and with full humility and with folded hands I inform you that my two previous books on Sales and Marketing (Published in 2005) have found place in the Libraries of World’s best Universities like York University, Toronto, Canada. Thus, I possess the basic qualifications to write a value added Book on Marketing. Hanuman Chalisa is indeed powerful, and I am sharing a recent personal experience with you. After thorough research, I announced this book on my blog www.chanakyaneeti.com on October 17th, 2017. Hanuman Chalisa starts with two Dohas at the beginning and is followed by forty chaupais and one closing Doha. As an ardent follower of Hanuman Chalisa and Hanuman Ji since childhood, I had always thought that Hanuman Chalisa is only about Hanuman Ji. I was proven wrong. I had always thought that the first two Dohas of Hanuman Chalisa were a formality, and the real Hanuman Chalisa starts from the first chaupai, Jai Hanuman Gyan Gun Sagar, Jai Kapish Tihu Lok Ujagar. My Blog Post of 17th October is a proof of this. I had planned to include first five chaupais in the first volume of my Book and had already written 25 pages. However, my restlessness kept growing with every page. Attain Divine Powers Through Hanuman Chalisa Volume 1: By Kujnish Vashisht 6 Something was missing but I couldn’t pinpoint the reason. One of the essential requirements of creativity is taking a side-track. My experience says that the best sidetrack for any successful professional is visiting the fundamentals again. We Indians follow cricket like religion (Have deliberately written this line in bold as it has a very deep meaning for marketers. Explanation is provided later in this Book). What does an out of form cricketer do when he is out of form? He goes back to the nets and revisits the fundamentals of Cricket. This helps him in getting his lost form back. Following this principal, I started reading the first fundamental of marketing, the definition. I read it several times, and from several books. One thing was common in all the definitions, and it was satisfying the consumer needs. I took this cue and repeated this process of revisiting Fundamentals for Hanuman Chalisa. Why does one enchant Hanuman Chalisa? That was the question which came to my mind while I was collecting the basic raw materials for creativity. I searched web to find answer to this question. The most common and convincing answer was, “To seek the blessings of Hanuman Ji”. The marketer inside me asked another question. With millions of people across the World seeking blessings from Hanuman Ji, what special can I do to seek his special attention? Isn’t Marketing all about seeking blessings for your product from the consumer? And which products does the consumer prefer? The products which satisfy consumer needs better than other products in the market. I felt like a marketer seeking special attention from Hanuman Ji (Some people may consider this statement foolish because I have heard from my elders that God Blesses everyone. However, this book is all about seeking Divine powers from Hanuman Chalisa in a logical and rational manner). The marketer in me asked another question. What needs of Hanuman Ji can I satisfy to seek his special attention? Is this another foolish question? God satisfies everyone’s needs. Does he require a foolish person like Kujnish Vashisht for his need satisfaction? I take it as a compliment when people call me foolish because foolishness is the stepping stone to creativity (I shall prove this statement logically through Hanuman Chalisa in Volume 2 of this Book). To find answer to the above questions, I decided to further visit the fundamentals. This time I picked up a copy of Hanuman Chalisa and Attain Divine Powers Through Hanuman Chalisa Volume 1: By Kujnish Vashisht 7 read it seven times (as prescribed by Goswami Tulsidas Ji). My eyes stopped on the first Doha of Hanuman Chalisa , । यश, य ॥ Shree-Guru Charan Saroja-Raja, Nija-Mana-Mukura Sudhaar | Barannau Raghu-Bara Bimala Yasha, Jo Daayaka Phala-Chaar || Just concentrate on first part of second line “Barnau Raghu-Bara Bimala Yasha” which means “I narrate the sacred story of Shree Ram”. Why did Goswami Tulsidas Ji use this line in the beginning of one of his most powerful and Sacred Compositions Hanuman Chalisa? As the name suggests, Hanuman Chalisa should be about Hanuman Ji. I kept thinking about it for an hour, and suddenly felt empowered. I had found an answer to my questions and had also found the reason behind my restlessness. I was able to establish a logical link between the first Doha of Hanuman Chalisa and the basic definition of Marketing. If you look at any idol of Shree Ram, you will find Hanuman Ji sitting with folded hands near Shree Ram’s feet. Does this indicate that the first requirement to seek blessings from Hanuman Ji is by worshipping Shree Ram? Let’s apply logic for the answer. We all seek Blessings from Hanuman Ji, but Hanuman Ji seeks blessings from Shree Ram. So how can we seek blessings from Hanuman Ji without worshipping Shree Ram? Goswami Tulsi Das Ji probably knew this need of Hanuman Ji, and that’s why he mentions the greatness of Shree Ram in the very first Doha of Hanuman Chalisa. Is this the reason for the unabated and ever increasing popularity of Hanuman Chalisa for the last more than 400 years? I can’t prove this logically, but the first Doha of Hanuman Chalisa definitely satisfies the basic definition of marketing.

Photo: Sandeep Saxena The Hindu It may be tempting to count the violence at Ramjas College, Delhi, in February as either isolated or yet another fracas. Reducing the organised muzzling of an event meant to celebrate ideas to mere vandalism runs the danger of ignoring the right-wing forces that are set on dismantling an India in which the coexistence of varied and even non-conforming intellectual strands is celebrated. In this article, Syed Areesh Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Ramjas College, turns the spotlight on the alarming trend of organised violence that aims to not merely restrict free speech, but also to hamper individual reasoning and thereby rid India of its rich pluralist tradition. By placing the philosophical works of Aristotle, John Locke, and J.S. Mill and the traditions of Bhakti and Sufi movements, in the context of the legal framing and practice of freedom of expression in modern states, he points out that societies only stand to gain from free speech and the spirit of dissent. Defending universities as spaces of freedom, he emphasises, requires a thorough reiteration of an undiluted commitment to safeguarding India’s rich and historic diversity. he final days of February 2017 were immensely painful for most of us at Ramjas College. In the eye of the storm was a seminar on ‘Cultures of Protest’, organised jointly by the English Department and the T Ramjas Literary Society—Wordcraft—over two days, February 21, and 22, with multiple sessions and many speakers lined up.

  • Case Study 4: I Didn't Troll Gurmehar Kaur, Alok Nath (Babu Ji)
1 Case Study 4: I didn’t Troll Gurmehar Kaur, Alok Nath (Babu Ji) did I recently met a few youngsters at a Party. Our discussion was focused on the need to maintain grace while posting/ commenting on social media. Our discussion took an ugly turn when a girl raised the topic of Gurmehar Kaur, a student of Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, who was allegedly trolled on Social media in February 2017. This topic divided boys and girls in two separate groups, with girls siding with Gurmehar Kaur and Boys having a negative view about her. There was an exception though. A Girl participant in the discussion had a different view. Although she was critical of the death threats to Gurmehar Kaur as well as the filthy language used by some against her, she was against Gurmehar’s famous Post on Social media, “Pakistan didn’t kill my Father, War Killed him”. The Girl’s father was also an Army Man, and like Gurmehar Kaur’s father, had died fighting against Pakistan sponsored Terrorists when she was only five. She was critical of Pakistan, alleging that it was Pakistan who was responsible for the past wars, and it was Pakistan who was sponsoring Terrorism in India. She further alleged that if Gurmehar Kaur was so concerned about peace, why didn’t she address her message to Pakistan Army, ISI, Pakistani Politicians and Pakistani Terrorists? And above all, she alleged, in February 2017, Gurmehar Kaur was seen protesting against those who had condemned the “Azaadi” slogans at JNU, Delhi and who had opposed the Lecture of such separatists at a college under Delhi University.

  • India's Obsession with Kashmir: Democracy, Gender, (Anti-)Nationalism
119 India’s obsession with Kashmir: democracy, gender, (anti-)nationalism Nitasha Kaul abstract This article attempts to make sense of India’s obsession with Kashmir by way of a gendered analysis. I begin by drawing attention to the historical and continuing failure of Indian democracy in Kashmir that results in the violent and multifaceted dehumanisation of Kashmiris and, in turn, domesticates dissent on the question of Kashmir within India. This scenario has been enabled by the persuasive appeal of a gendered masculinist nationalist neoliberal state currently enhanced in its Hindutva avatar. I focus on understanding how the violence enacted upon Kashmiri bodies is connected to feminised understandings of the body of Kashmir in India’s imagination of itself as a nation state. I argue that the gendered discourses of representation, cartography and possession are central to the way in which such nationalism works to legitimise and normalise the violence in Kashmir. I conclude with a few reflections on how Kashmir is a litmus test for the discourse on (anti-)nationalism in contemporary India. keywords Kashmir; India; gender; democracy; Hindu nationalism; anti-nationalism feminist review 119 2018 (126–143) Ó 2018 The Feminist Review Collective. 0141-7789/18 www.feminist-review.com What is the relationship between politics and death in those systems that can only function in a state of emergency? (Mbembe, 2003, p. 16) A relation of cruel optimism exists when something you desire is actually an obstacle to your flourishing. It might involve food, or a kind of love; it might be a fantasy of the good life, or a political project.
