THE NEW GIRL WITH A PAST Ms Batterhams; Bendigo’s first lounge pays homage to Bendigo’s rich and diverse history and our own family connection

The name, ‘Ms Batterhams’ honours our mother’s former kindergarten and music teacher, Winifred Batterham. ‘Winnie’, as she was fondly referred to, was a teacher at ‘All Saints’ (MacKenzie Quarters) in the 1940s. Winnie was a talented, determined woman who wrote the music for ‘The Song of Bendigo’ in 1951 and won the Centenary prize for Bendigo in the same year. We like to imagine that after a long, rewarding day at the piano Winnie would sit back with good friends - quietly sipping a sherry or two - while sharing her love of music and tales of her time at ‘All Saints’. It is our desire that the creativity, passion, fun and friendships Winnie inspired continue into the future at Ms Batterham’s Lounge. SOMETHING TO BEGIN

Ms Batterhams Gin menu has been carefully selected by our resident gin-spurt and will be ever evolving.

The resurgence of this classic and sometimes rudimentary produced spirit is mind boggling. With this resurgence comes small batch distilleries being established to try their hands at crafting a unique version of the classic spirit. Below are a few that we have selected for you. You can have it classic tall, modern large ballon, on the rocks, with soda or not. Or perhaps with some Capi dry tonic. If you can’t decide then leave it to us.
